About Me
Pet&Co (Petko Chakarov) was born 30 July 1979 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. His very first contact with music was at the age of 4, when his favorite toys amongst many others were a small drum, piano and a plastic guitar with a few cord strings, which unfortunately ended up broken, unusable and in the bin. Though still existing are a few brass instrument toys, kept in a safe place at his home. At 8 years old he began classical guitar lessons, which continued for 3 years. As a wild rogue kid, he grew up near an airfield and meadows, and having leadership experience from a few street bike bands under his belt, in 1995 together with his brother and a couple of mates, a new metal band was born. The style, the name and the members of that band went through many transfigurations and metamorphoses during the next few years, and in 1997 the music orientation was found mostly in the space of electronic influences. In 1998 Petko went to the seaside for his higher education at Technical University Varna (continuing at Technical University Sofia – Branch Plovdiv after his 3rd year) and the band split. The future artist became a part of the rapidly growing club and dance scene in Bulgaria, when he started to produce his own tracks and collect loads of vinyl records and DJ stuff. Pet&Co has releases for the digital label STRETCHING SPACES NET and for the Bulgarian web portal dedicated to the club culture – HouseBG. Pet&Co’s love for traveling and adventures whips him off to such places like UK, Ibiza, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Geneve, Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Brussels, Wienna, Rotterdam, Prague, Budapest, Salzburg, Zurich, Montreux, Lausane, Belgrade, Innsbruck just to name a few. He always succeeds in finding inspiration and muse, and turns it into an up to date tracks and music. His sound is far from straightforward and an eclectic variety is the key to his inspiration. Pet&Co’s tracks have been on the airwaves of “Plovdiv University†radio station and his DJ mixes have made an appearance on Traffic Radio (www.trafficradio.org) and TRIBALMIXES Radio (http://tribalmixes.org) show programs. Pet&Co has also taken part in the biggest music event in his region, that is to say “South-East European Music Event - Sofia†(www.seeme-sofia.com, www.myspace.com/seemesofia). He’s had appearances in places, such as a cult at the Ball Room in the Military Club – Sofia, Club Chervilo – Sofia (www.clubchervilo.com, www.myspace.com/chervilo) as well as Club Kasanova – Plovdiv just to name a few. Since April 2007 Pet&Co has been a member of the E-booking DJ agency. When you read this he will currently be working on his next release ;D
