StrringS

StringS were formed in 2001 to resemble the English quartet “Bond” with the idea of presenting classical and author’s compositions in an attractive manner, using classical instruments. Veneta Georgieva (violin), Nora Kalcheva (violoncello), Dora Parvanova (viola) and Radina Radeva (violin) are all graduates of the National Musical Academy “Pancho Vladigerov”. Later on, the girls from StringS decided to break the “Bond cliché” and to create and stick to their own style by introducing electronics, rock and ethno elements taken from Bulgarian folklore. Their music is filled with the passion of youth and the oddity of their blood!Just one year gone since then saw them playing at big Christmas and charity events. In December 2002 the girls participated in the musical programme of the “Visages Models” competition which was shot by the fashion channel and was on the air for a long while. In the beginning of March 2003 StringS played a concert in the German embassy in Bulgaria and recorded the performance for the promo disk of a German company which was done by “Dea” advertising agency. Those were the first recordings of the band in “Graffitti Studio”, Sofia.In 2002 the head of the Youth Orchestra of “Classic FM radio” Vasil Dimitrov invited the quartet to take part in the intriguing project “Classics in Rock” including popular rock pieces performed live by StringS and a symphonic orchestra. “Bulgaria” hall had never seen so much people. The concert was dedicated to Saint Valentine’s Day – 14 February and was the first big media appearance for the band, shot and aired over national television.From then on the musical career of StringS really took off – a first single and a video for their original piece “O.K.” were released followed by participating in various projects and prestigious events. Also following was their most memorable gig up to date – their performance alongside the world famous cellists of Apocalyptica on a stage in Kavarna on 01.06.2006.The upcoming task for the ambitious girls is the preparation and realization of their first album.
