About Me

A former child actress, Chemistry major, and Orson Scott Card Boot Camper, Alethea Kontis’s first foray into the literary world was a picture book— AlphaOops: The Day Z Went First (July 2006, Candlewick Press ). In 2005 she edited the critically-acclaimed SF all-star Elemental: The Tsunami Relief Anthology for Tor and launched her exclusive dark fantasy and horror small press, Nyx Books . November 13th was the release of her Companion to Sherrilyn Kenyon’s bestselling Dark-Hunter universe, which went on to hit the New York Times bestseller list. Her fairytale novelette, “Sunday,” was published in the October 2006 issue of Realms of Fantasy magazine. You can find her Victorian fantasy “Small Magics” online in issue number 3 of Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show .
