About Me

I write novels for Young Adults. So far I've had more than 30 fiction books and a handful of short stories published by major publishers.
I've been married to bestselling author Kevin J Anderson since 1991 (see his MySpace profile). Together, we've written all 14 volumes of the Star Wars Young Jedi Knights Series (Berkley), two Titan AE novels (Berkley), the graphic novels The Gorn Crisis (DC/Wildstorm) and Grumpy Old Monsters (IDW), a couple of Star Wars pop-up books, and several movie novelizations. We recently completed our original trilogy, Crystal Doors (Little, Brown).
On my own, I wrote the Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel Little Things (S&S) and three Star Wars Junior Jedi Knights novels (Berkley). I'm currently starting an original science fiction YA series with Kevin.
I'm a devout gadgetologist. If a gadget is the latest, the greatest, the coolest and hottest, I must — and eventually shall — own it. (My greatest vice.)

My Interests

Gadgets, travel, computers, visiting hot springs, movies, shopping, health/fitness, swimming in warm water

I'd like to meet:

Readers and potential readers. Teens and teens at heart.

Birds of a feather. Fellow writers. Interesting people (but keep in mind that I'm a YA author). Fellow gadgetologists.

Fellow members of the 501st. (Kevin and I were inducted as honorary members by the Alpine Garrison.)

Motivated people who work to get what they want in life.

BTW: My profile background is by Japanese digital artist Kagaya .

NOTE: If you email me here on MySpace, I may not be able to answer. I'm a fairly slow typist (after multiple arm surgeries — cubital tunnel, carpal tunnel, etc.), and I can't reply to all of my emails. I will, however, try to do kind of a mini-FAQ in my blogs, to answer questions from newer writers.

PLEA TO ASPIRING AUTHORS: Budding writers often want to send me a story or novel manuscript for advice, critique, or a "blurb" quote. In the past, I tried accepting manuscripts, but — in spite of the best intentions — didn't manage to squeeze the extra reading in. Although I want to help, I already read for a large part of my workday. I'm also a painfully slow reader with a high distractability quotient (A.D.D.) and looming writing deadlines. Between reading and editing my own scribblings, I do the same on my husband's novels (and he writes A LOT). At the end of a long day, my brain and eyeballs are fried, and the probability of tackling another manuscript is, as the chaps in Monty Python would say, "right out." So have mercy, friends, and please, please don't ask.
