Tribal Records : The Story...
"Sweat, sleaze, sex, drugs. The best party you've ever been to. A basement, a red light, and a feeling. Disco. House music. Da underground. 4am and the same noise is pumping and swaying its way through London, Lisbon and New York. That sound is tribal."
Dom Phillips, Mixmag (1994)
This is the Tribal America Records page - one of the most influential and loved labels in the history of house music (not only tribal!). A place to re-live the best moments and share some stories about the first time you were touched by the Tribal magic. 1991 - 1996 R.I.P... Revived for 2008
Tribal Records' impact on the underground music scene of today is immeasurable. Many people have nostalgic stories of their first tribal house experience - the first time they heard a certain record - rocking it to 'Bottom Heavy' at the Sound Factory NYC, 'Surrender Yourself' at Zouk, Singapore or 'Sexy Dance' at The Redzone, Auckland etc. It kick-started the careers of dozens of dance music icons and included an astounding roster of talented artists - literally a who's who of modern house music. Tribal Records can be credited with many of the defining moments in dance music culture in the 1990s, born from an almost unceasing stream of dance floor-destroying releases.
Kudos to one of dance music's greatest labels and to the artists who helped create the lasting vibe.

Rhythm is fundamental... like the beat of a tribal drum/b?
