My friends are very important to me and I like to let them know that. I was born in Panama and raised in Miami since I was one year old. That makes me a proud Panamanian/American. I lived in Miami until I was 23, then I moved to Atlanta, Georgia for school. I lived there from 1991 to 1999. I loved it there. I met the most amazingly artistic people....fellow DJs, performance artists (you bitches know who you are), photographers, clothing designers, artists, club kids, drag queens, and street urchins. My DJing career started to really take off soon after I moved there with the opening of Mr Chucks Popcorn lounge upstairs in the VIP area of the now defunct Velvet (RIP). I made a pretty good name for myself DJing here and there (Velvet and the old Metro were the best). I was handpicked to be a Billboard dance chart reporter. It was an amazing time for me. Some say that I was one of the first that brought house music to the Atlanta mainstream. Remember, it was 1991 and house music for the masses was still in it's infancy and I had just moved there from Miami where it was just blowing up. Unfortunately...the DJing has recently taken a backseat to the small business my partner and I started last year. Dont get me wrong...I dont think I will ever turn my back on it. I will still mix up the slickest cd. I make about 2 to 3 a year. Recently two of my biggest dreams in life cames true. The first being starting my own business.....a mobile dog grooming service that has taken Ft. Lauderdale by storm....we're the best! The second dream was climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower when we celebrated our 5 year anniversary in June. Some dreams do come true. There are still a few more on my list. Stay tuned............In love, and music - Tomas
