I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, I grew up in San Diego, California. My father was in the U.S. Navy and we traveled all over the U.S. I've lived in Virginia Beach & Williamsburg, VA; Charleston, SC; Clovis, NM; San Antonio, TX; Bayonne, Jersey City, & Garfield, NJ; Acworth and Kennesaw, GA. I was in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and was an Aircraft Mechanic(AFSC# 43151), stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM., where I introduced to mixing which, unbeknownst to me, was the catalyst in me becoming a disc jockey. I was a club and radio jock for many years and have played in NM, TX, NJ, NY, SC, and soon Atlanta! My format was always Urban Contemporary which included R&b and Hip Hop, but transcended into Club/Dance, Freestyle and eventually House, which remains my all time favorite. I can see the notes dancing before me, I can hear the baseline forming in my head, and I can feel the beat alongside my pulse. I was a strong club jock and could work 3 turntables and watched as others dropped their jaws! I was one of the pioneers and I'll never forget my days at WWWZ Z-93!I'm a two time cancer survivor and am thankful for that experience! It enhanced my outlook on life and made me experience a rude awakening as to what is "REALLY" valuable to me and in life! I'm currently 3 years cancer free! HOO RAH! I'm an Associate Broker with a prominant real estate company in the metro Atlanta market and I've been an active Realtor in metro Atlanta for over 9 years. I love my office and the people that I work with! I have a growing and thriving business and look forward to all the gifts that God has and will bestow upon me today and in the future! I have a beautiful Niece "Lilly" who's named after my grandmother and I look forward to watching her grow! Tune in next week...Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel!

4Deep presents CONNECT
with special guest:

jojo flores
(Gotsoul, MONTREAL)

The challenge of never knowing what to expect from a crowd is what drives jojoflores to consistently provide a solid groove. DJing for 25 years, recently added as a resident dj at New York's famed night club, Cielo, and has established honorary residencies in San Francisco (Pink), Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles (Deep), Hawaii, Dubai & Athens. His accolades include: Voted "Best International DJ" 4 years in a row [2002 – 05] by NYC's Undaground Archives, and Montreal's "Best Club DJ" by Sounds of Blackness. jojoflores compiled and mixed Kinkysweet's Afterdark Montreal CD.

His client list comprises; Roots, MAC, Montreal & Toronto Intl. Film Fest., Apple, Cadillac, SAAB, Hugo Boss, Vanity Fair, Puma, Details Magazine, Banana Republic, l'aperatif a la francaise, and The Delano Hotel. He's headlined events with Wyclef Jean, Jody Watley, K-OS, Jazzy Jeff, and even designers D-Squared.
Add CEO/A&R of Gotsoul records/merchandise, founder of underground label Jamsteady, founder of award winning Therapy [8 year old soiree], and you see why jojoflores is truly one of Canada's leading ambassadors for soulful dance music.

jojoflores keeps the vibe alive with determination, passion, and the upstanding mission to touch the heart of the ones who love music as much as he does. In times of war, disarray and disillusion, jojoflores provides solace and, from the four corners of the globe, re-ignites our purpose and our reason. His sound is now.

+Opening set from:
Miss Valentine (4Deep, Dynamite Group)

Upstairs Lounge:
Chris Grass (Halo Lounge)
& Special Guest DAZ-I-KUE (Bugz In The Attic)

Music:

Jazz, jazz, jazz, jazz, acid jazz, house(deep, souful, afrobeat, garage, juke, jack, disco and hip house), r&b, rap, dance(club and freestyle), lite rock, and other forms, but not too much into hard rock or country, and oh yeah....JAZZ! I have a deep appreciation for all forms of music! Music is the tangible evidence of our souls! Some of my favorite jazz artists are Boney James, Grover Washington, Jr., Norman Brown, Herb Albert, Dave Grusen, George Benson, Gerald Albright, Najee, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Rick Braun, George Duke, Stanley Clark, Earl Klugh, Joe Sample, Bob James, David Sanborn, the Rippingtons, and Spyro Gyra. And then there was HOUSE! Nothing like going to all the clubs in NYC and Newark! Used to go the The World, Mars, Sound Factory, Underground, The Tunnel, 1018, The Palladium, Limelight, Studio 54, and my all time favorite..."THE RED ZONE", among countless others just to hear jocks like David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Little Louie Vega, Kenny 'Dope' Gonzolez, Junior Vasquez, Steve 'Silk' Hurley, Roman Ricardo, Hex Hector, & Frankie Bones! Love them all and just a clip of a hook can bring me back to hearing that 'THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, SS, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, SS, THUMP' as your walking into the club and being frisked to see if you're packin'! And once you got on the dance floor, you didn't stop until 6 or 7 in the morning! Damn! I had so much fun! I regret never being able to go to The Garage, The Fun House, or The Loft & sorry I missed my chances to go to The Shelter!

Movies:

I have a thing for 'Awe Inspiring' movies such as Rocky, The Shawshank Redemption, Pay It Forward, & The Pursuit of Happiness! However, I also have a thing for a good slueth/whodunit like Silence of the Lambs, Seven, The Game, Shattered, Lucky Number Sleven, The Prestige, & The Illusionist. Some of my other all-time favorites are Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Harry Potter series, Batman Begins, Spriderman 1 & 2 (Can't wait to see 3) X-Men Trilogy, Croutching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Kung-Fu Hustle, & House of Flying Daggers.

Television:

X-Files, 24, Alias, and Medium are the ones that really catch my attention....and keep it! Of course, back in the day, it was Soul Train, American Bandstand, Dance Fever, and Solid Gold!

Books:

The Language of Letting Go, Courage to Change, Co-Dependent No More, The Prayer of Jabez, & The Total Money Makeover.

Heroes:

My mother (God rest her soul), all those soldiers who fought & are still fighting for our country & those soliers who , so unselfishly, have given their lives for our freedom, Dr. Martin Luther King, & my Oncologist...Dr. Harris! God bless them ALL!
