friends and heroes ---- till now I got the coolest electronic friends a guy could want
13.05.07 Deephouse jack Selector.. got the idea today to try find a new tune every day ... 365 day non stop party.. each tune will reflect a mood or a memory , whatever they will speak my truth. (10.12.07 - the genre 'deephouse' (point/ I hate labels ) is commonly seperated from other genres because of its sophisticated style. Often down tempo rather than ' put ur hands up in the air ' style. The wikipedia states this ---- Deep house is a style of house music which fuses elements of Chicago house, 80's soul, jazz-funk and Detroit techno. The Jazz influences of deep house are most frequently brought out by chords using more complex than simple triads (7ths, 9ths, 13ths, suspensions, alterations) which are held for many bars, which give the tracks a slightly dissonant feel. The use of vocals is also more common in deep house than in many other forms of house music. ----- no doubt this to me sounds like my thing, I just do not buy that deep house is so limited. I , probably standing alone in my opinion, understand deep house as modern dance music that one has a deeper emotional ( often several emotions evoked but always ultimately a positive message)experience with the music than say one might have boogy-ing to Kylie Minogues latest happy track. *********************************************************** ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ********3.3.8 Wallshaker Acs Theme - Aaron Carl 29.2.08 Change- Matthew Hellibron . 3.2.8 Pride - Nadira Shakoor (2007) Just love these lyrics and sound. Its a celebration of being human. Deep house music at its best. 22.1.8 Family - dreamgirls 2007 .. I used to write musicals when I was a kid. 21.1.8 Cant let me down - george morel feat Romina johonson. ..I have a weakness for those backing vocals. **** les vacances - solar moon ( can 7 mix) (2003) 20.1.8 dance (dub) Todd terry ( i think) (1990) Wow, its been a long time. So good to hear it again. I18.1.8 If we Were Alone - Keith Young and N dambi ( aaron carl remix) CLASSIC GARAGE. aaron carl is taking over.I only got to know his name a couple of months ago but I sure caught up. 17.1.8 Direct Me - Reese project ( 2008 not sure if its a release though) One of the top sexiest house tunes I ever dance to remixed. ****Hertz Aus Glas- Letroset (2007) Ok, I hate the term electro and most of the stuff I hear i dont like. I suppose this would fall into the ' electro'( surely a better name anyway would have been ' elecrti' the sounds are indeed electrifying) category for mtv-industry-men-in-suits puporses. Personally , its house. Keep it simple. But I love it anyway. The congos and the shakers give it the kind of deep dancefloor experience I like. ****Alien in MY POCKET - Lindbaek and Lindstroom .(2004) I just love this this blend of psychedlic and electricity. I just saw this single for sale for 69 euros. Its much better to buy it when first released ;)****End of Europe -Ryuichi Sakamoto (1980) Ive only just about heard of this guy. hes collabaorated and been involved with names I know. Yellow Magic Orchestra for example. I just love hearing this stuff , I mean it was 1980. It sounds amazing still. Soul surreal. 16.1.8 My Love turns to Liquid - Dream 2 Science (1990) It turns out that this early deep house track was written by the same guy who wrote Im in Love by Sha Lor ( one of my favourite dance tracks) I first heard the Liiquid track on a Journey by DJ compilation and became a favourite also. My love turns to Liquid.. how astonishingly obvious yet sublime. I Ben Cenac a (fan) message after tracking him down on myspace, and like it seems with most other geniuses on the music circuit, he replied with a sweet reply (totally unexpected) as did Lady E . It made my day. ****Osaka - Pablo Rez. I enjoy these mind bending tracks. Almost childish. ****Humanoid - Stakker ...CLASSIC ACID DISCO The voice from the Radio Jock is ??? but its a typical manchester accent. 15.1.8 I cling - Deetron feat Ovasoul7 ( brikha rmx) ...( 2007)A deep trip. ****14.1.8 Baby Im scared of you - ( not sure - think its eithe womack and womack or first choice--- but her voice is love)(1983)This song almost gives tears. I been on the receiving end and the giving end of this truth. At least Im no longer scared of myself. 13.1.8 Planets - Bruno Andreas . Went to a club last night. Everybody was loving it. I hated the music. How can I complain really. It was a business success. But , I swear it the last time I go there. though, im glad I went cos I met a real nice guy. Of course he was smart. very smart. and cute. What you gain on the swings , u lose on the roundabouts.12.1.8The Sun Cant Compare - Mr White (2007) a Larry Heard production that eclipses. ***** In The Mix - Mixmasters (1990). Reminds me big time of sweating like a watefall in the Hacienda. 11.1.8 Hot Baby - The go go dancer 10.1.8 Thick Satin - Broad Band (2007) 9.1.8 You Have The Right - Scan 7 (Aaron carl rmx) (2007) No wonder his label is called WALLSHAKER. Deep house garage soul who gives a fuck. Just a delicious trak to listen to and ' get down ' to. Like Music - The Jinks.(2007) Superb garage style. It felt likt music today when I was told I had a job. I go for a trial on Friday. ********** Harness and Spencer feat Tonee green (mustafas blu mix) (2007)The rap makes sense to me. One of the sexiest experiences for me, is dancing and being unconcious of eyes watching and really letting go. ******Badass - Kevin Reynolds (2007) The quetion I 9 times out 10 ask is ' can I dance to it' . This track works well for me. Another quesion I often ask myself is ..... if actions are based on thoughts:feeling then what is my belief if this or that track puts a spring in my step. Sometimes(like mostly) I think too much. ;) 8.1.07 Hate on Me - Jill scott( sole channel rmx) (2008) great combination Mr V and Jill Scott and the sole channel crew. Sometimes I feel it sounds contradictory to say, but 'techno' is often doing nothing new while much ' house' also repaets many styles and breaks etc . Plenty of reminiscence here, but, its great song. As frankie Knuckles says, its all about the SONG. ****Sound of Silver - LCD Soundsystem ( carl craig rmx)(2006) Great lyrics and though I got to be honest Im not techon expert, Carl Craig is someone Ive always admired since the Paperclip People times. I love some techno but somtimes I hear nothing new or soulful.
MUSIC LOG CONTINUED ran out space :( 7.8.08 Was that al it Was - Jean Carne (1979) This is one of my favourite gay anthems. though I was 8 years old when it was released , its stood the test of time. Its one of those tracks that my grandmother would like yet still can be played in underground clubs with the intensity of an orgasm. (slight exageration ;) ) This is the extended intensity version. 7.1.8 Atmosphere Strut - Cloud One (disoc mix ) (1979) Garage heaven. I first heard this only a few years ago on Danny Tenaglia Choice Collection. Knocked me out by the climax. ***** Playground Do Brazil - Imada (2007) I just got to leave the PC while I go out shake it on the street. ***Cpstyre - Donk Boys. (2007) Im not too sure I would want this sound all night but defnitely its got a place on the floors I like to go on to. Not too much these days. I can imagine how 'in -the -best -possible -taste -head - fuck ' this would sound. Techno for dummies. 6.1.8Your Beat Sounds Like - Ron Gelfer and Tiger Lily This is a classic! No need for a drug infested floor when music sounds as good as this.****** Where is my Man - Eartha Kitt.(1983) My sister bought this 12 inch and used to practise the catwalk to it at home (she was a model) So its got sentimental value. I laso heard it on a Larry heard radio show, which just proved to me that he really is the man. And why not its a beautiful track. 5.1.8 *** Catch the Wave - da funk (virtual funks def. mix)(2007) Its always difficult to resist this beat. Funked into a trance. *****??? - Cool Peepl feat Amp Fiddler (2006) Worth wating for. Smoke Yourself - Basek & Phil Smart (consisitent dub) (2007)4.1.8 Saved My Life - Todd Edwards (1995) This classic track has much what I (opinion alert) consider to be house. How its produced is so raw, like how a a great DJ can mix. And if ever there was a JACK TRACK this is it. ****3.1.8 Dance Me Dance You - larry Five (inland knights remix) (2007) Sexy dancing music. 2.1.08 New Life - Dom Navarra feat Antonio (rachel claudio rmx) (2008) All I know is this. On a SYSTEM this will be mind blowing. ***** Kuchwa - Steve Soul Basics ( seed in the city rmx)(2007)That operatic is worth a smile. 1.1.08 Superman Theme - John Williams . 2008 needs him.31.12.07Im free - Yass*** Already Done - Su Su Bobien (2007) Stomp my feet.. this year is already done. 30.12.07 Your Beat Sounds Like - Ron Gelfer feat Tiger Lily .(rasmus faber rmx) (2007)Feeling pretty shitty over some personal stuff right now. Thank god the sunrises... just that theres been a few misty mornings recently. Dum Maro Dum - Asha Bhosle.(1971) Just watched Ghandi for the 100000th time. Whence! Ghandi is a cool xmas film. Always been drawn to funk of Indian music. I even got this theory that disco would not exist without it. This song is about getting stoned and hare krishna , and taken from a cult bollywood film Hare rama hare Krisna***29.12.07 Ouh Bebe - Laurent and Lewis. (2007)I saw them for the first time at the Love dance gig years ago. Joy Division finally came out the closet. But it did look so much more fresh than just a band influenced. Defnitely one reason to return to Amsterdam. I never found out who they actually were till a few weeks ago. 28.07.07 RainbowColuredRizla - Jahcoozi .. No Woman No Cry ;) 26.12.07 Cant Stop the Crew - 2020 Sound Sytem (jesse rose dub) (2006) Hearing this on the headphones is just a must. ***25.12.07 Allah Akhbar - Into A Circle.(1988) I got a satirical side. Confronting sometimes. I go go danced for Into A circle years ago. 24.12.07 Brastep - Jazztronik (2007) A masterpiece. To me nearly beyond categorisation. A celebration of confusion. 23.12.07 They Forgot It - Tarantulaz w/ Monique Bingham(2007) Just pure electronic soul. It is scary when one forget s sometimes. **** Back When - Dirtdiggers feat Robert Owens (2007)I recognised a long time ago, that the clubbing experience as i had experienced was over. Or at least had run its course. The next big thing never happened ( say except drum and bass). The formula of HOUSE had been set, the mystery and mastery of DJing was exposed (and made easy), we got bored of the drugs (no real big bang dance drug since ecstacy). It became apparent to me that while the next big sound, club , DJ was being seeked out ( to repeat what his-her peers had already done) it was the concept of clubbing that would change ) - to what , who knows? The very concept of what human is is also in transition ( mass wise). This track appeals to nostalgica, naievely but intensely so. 22.12.07 Happy -Towa Tei (1997)(dub) Even if I did not know FK was rmeixing this Im sure Id feel Happy with a tear. Hes a freaking genius. 21.12.07 Keep on Movin - Frankie Knuckles with Nikki Richards (2001) I bought this when I was going thru one of my DJ phases. Spinning in a leather bar, vinyly of course ;) i odnt think it got so much status as it deserved. It really is a piece of absolute class and I believe a unique piece of house music. I got this theory that though loved some Djs ( with the clubs I experienced in Amsterdam then) just did not know how to play it in their sets. Not hat it was no success but it was just too special. **** City Street Walking - Kemal feat Foxxee ( 2007) A song that could well be a soundtrack to a certain tilme in my life***Free yourself - Fantasia (david harness remix)(2004) 20.12.07 PIANO set EP _ Daishi Dance (2006) And house music was born , born again, and reborn and reborn. 19.12.07 Im Free - Yass feat LT Brown (2007) A surprise that makes sense. I heard this first in a club a while back and it was surely my favourite track of the whole night. And the word ' free' which is sometimes gratuitously used in 'house( ?)' songs resonates very nice here. As we all awken to a new truth of godlessness, words like freedom and choice, coined by religions, are taking on new meanings. If we are nothing more than a body of atoms heading towards the light and the warmth ( the sun?), then thats what I want to be free to do. 18.12.07 Feelin So Alive - Jack Flash feat Desney (flash's dub)(2002); I really got to wake up this morning. Got the flu :( 17.12.07 Dreams - Alsion david ( bugs in the attic mix) If i dont feel different after this then I must be on Prozac. *****I will Survive - Chantay Savage Must be having a soppy moment. As covers go this is a classic of classic. I like it when artists cover a song an ' make it their own' while still paying homage to the original. Which this does in a ' can imagine some drag queen doing this' but also imagine hearing at a serious soul party. I used to a party in years ago , where the tempo was like this sometimes, a crowded room , the DJ, Richard Searling would drop something this tempo inbetween other underground soul flavours. An unusual experience. I literally crumbled ;) 15.02.07Inch By Inch - Al Pacino ( I believe) This is just a beautiful reference point. On the rude side I can imagine trhis played on the gay chat. And I lived a life in the past sometimes like him. Life is a game of inches.. centremetres in mainland Europe, probably why its sometimes so slow on the catch up. ********Losin My Mind - Jovvon ( cutler mix). I get the vibe of pretty much everything Jon Cutler does. Just a great producer of house. losing my mind? well, I been busy looking for it for a while now ;)***** Thats Enough for me - Gene King feat Sacha. The hook is catching me anyway. 14.12.07 Ill keep on Loving You - Walter Merlin Jones. Never heard of this guy but came across him via www.myspace.com/jujujordash I really like this 80s sound, and actually when I think of Electro , rightly or wrongly, I feel for this sound. Also reminds me of the kind of thing Larry heard might play on his radio show.Got to say, I keep on loving my 3 ex s. Even the angry one ;) **** Holiday - Roy Ayers . Roy Ayers is so cool, when i hear much of his work I just dont know anymore. He pops up now and then with absolute class. King of the vibes. And his songs are proof that sometimes, conciousness means time for change.*****Beatdown - ChuckLove ... In England we say chuck to mean ' hiya chuck = hiya mate/babe" Chuck Love is perfecting house. And reminds me theres still a big chance there is plenty more to come. 13.12.07 Supersonic revelation - Simbad (marathon man mix) Deep house electronica or whatever. First time I heard it, and love it already. ITs on the label Raw Soul and I could not describe it better. ****Para mostra revival ( i guess) - Javi Lopez (jevne remix) Lets all bounce. 12.12.07Let Us Adore Him - Kenny Bobien. Kenny Bobien is up there with the angels when it comes to song. And King Street is one of favourite labels. No matter the belief, I am convinced that JC was a cool cookie. And considering how much his views apparently have shaped our human thinking he should be revered. I used to be part of a group. A kind of spirtual movement. The beginnings, way back in the early 20th century were as humble and as simple as one could imagine. The group grew and grew and is currently masive. I felt that there was a similarity between this movement and christianity..; started simple, then as time goes by, some wise guy dissatisfied with this ir that decides to write this, perform a ritual, organisation. Its still a very useful organisation . But I was tooo sensitive to what felt like a becoming dogma. I reckon Chritianity experienced the same. Like ' whopee, lets write a book' , lets build church, lets wear this or that... and so on. Im absolutely no angel, maybe in the making ;) I hate being adored.( it happens now and then, on the pedstal, off the pedstal) But I adore what some peple do and have done. Anyway; its xmas and its time to be nice. ************* Geno - dexys Midnight Runners . my brother loved this band. Its not house but a great pop song nonetheless. The changes in tempo remind me how I got so used to 125 bpm non stop. But, this is especially for my new mate on myspace. ***** Lephtee- The dream Sequence. I dont know too much about techno. Except this, there is some very good stuff and tonnes of crap. Techno ( whats in a name- but as I know ità has got to be the easiest music to replicate and pass of as something cool to the uninitiated. Thats fine cos not evryones is so obsessive as me about music. Only a few months ago I discovered Trentemoller... knew the sound but not the name. They are cool. Francois K is a techno pioneer (I heard he was a pioneer of phasing), as of course Derrick May, Carl Craig and all that clan. I reckon Techno more than any other kind of music has to sound fresh each time to stand out. A slight variation on a theme just doesnot do it for me. The current track has a warmth to it. 11.12.07 Is it all over my Face - Loose Joints. .. How mad is this track. This is DISCO baby!!!! Just wanted something to play in honour of Mel Cheren. 10.12.07LearnTo Love - Troydon. I just love this sound, this compostition. So simple in its rythym its almost childish. I been in clubs and when these kind of beats kick in, the whole club cheers. ('if they could not see, they could just feel it' ).*** See you Freak - Cassioware/Chip E This track is a couple of years old. The connection between early house and the ' industry electro' of today is, I think, tight. 9.12.07 Love Vibes - Iz and Diz . Dedicated to all the guys who know the difference between a love vibe and a coulda shoulda woulda lova vibe. 8.12.07 Feel It - Glenn Underground fet Yaminah . I could bitch about the guy behind this track but I wont and by not and by saying I wont says enough. Dont shoot the message, or the messenger actually. Song makes feel good and got a dancefloor invitation. With that taste in my mouth would make it a more intresting experieince. 7.12.07 Graffiti - Mathew Bandy . Irressitable percussions. It maybe winter but in the club I want the music to going towards the warmth. ****6.12.07 OOh - Mary J Blige (lono brazil) Her voice is the message of love after all. Never heard this mix before. I love the speed and how it breaks into the that salsoul classic. Though this is a remix, it reminds me of how DJs dont work the decks so much beyond a drum roll and some synthy stuff. In my opinion the modern DJ could better mix music and not just what ever comes to hand out of his long intro stuff. Mixing is easy. Any fucker can do it. Creatively bringing the audience into his or her web of feelings ( references etc) is mastered by few. ( yep Im feeling a bit pissed today over some nutty people )*** Work -Harness and Spencer feat Tonee Green(mustafas blue mix) Is it brain numbing or thought provoking? Reminds a little of one of those early acid trax.***** Its Over Now - Ultra NatE . One of my all time favourite house songs. A serious song. 12.07 Ooh I Love IT (love break) - Salsoul Orchestra. On the verge of being a cliche but still , I love it. 04.12.07 How Do you Want me - SOUL II SOUL... voice from heaven. 3.12.07 Dont YOU Worry - Vicky Martin ( ). A faith-full house recording. 2.12.07 IPEADREAMA - Frankie Knuckles . Not often one gets to hear an unreleased project by my hero. Total FK. A tension that just wants me stay here and now but totally excited about whats coming. Dying to be patient. ****Falling - Spit . I like the club versoion . the dadddy groove one, but this one fits with my mood today. ***** 1.12.07 Right in the Socket - Shalamar . Seem to be having a deep disco moment these past few days. I was obsessed with Shalamar, and used to think I was Jeffery Daniels whenever my mum left me at home alone and she went shopping. I never heard this until Francois K ( a hero) played it on his Choie Collection. Thats the beauty if realisation. ... Its never too late. And how rude is ' rigth ther in the socket?'*****Osmonds - iii Gianni Grasso edit An ancient track maybe but timeless nonetheless. It makes me angry that the beat cant get to this sometimes in clubs. 30.11.07 Do it Again - Joshua Heath ****Remember the time- Michael Jackson (aroop roy). I got shivers when the vocals cames in. I love this feeling. 29.11.07 Gypsy travels - Hamzas. .... *****In a while -Edddy meets Yannah . Just a lovely groove with vocals that tease hopeful desperation with a big fat smile on its face. **** Rememberance - Aris Koko . Just love those old school knocks on electronic wood. ****28.11.07 All this Love Im Giving - Leah McCrae. Being the daughter of Gwen McCrae gives her more right than most to cover this soul funk classic heel spinner. 27.11.07 Be with YOU - Carol Harding . Garage house! 26.11.07 New Jersey deep - Black Science orchestra . An all out deep classic, and yes everybody was freaking. I migh t be getting old cos I sound like my dad, when I hear this and compare it with much of whats available to day, it just stands above. Anyone can grab a pc and smash a tune steal a sample, but to get this kind of juxtaposition happens rarely. ****** Hold on To Me - Stephanie Cooke and Kenny Bobien ... Two of my favourite singers.25.11.07 YOU Have the Right - Scan 7 ( aaron carl rmx) House music all Night - Audiowhores 24.11.07 Jungo - Hanna Hais (Dj meme jazzy dub°)...The reference s are obvious. Profound but not cliched . **********Theorema del Faya - Anto Vitale feat Alex Senna... I been to a few parties this year and not heard this once which frustrates. **** Rejuvanating Season - Boo Williams & Demarcus pres Cynthia Grifin . A room shaker. Let the weekend begin. 23.11.07 Baroque - Chateau Flight . I dont listen to much classical but Bach is one guy who I really enjoy. He was the godfather of Baroque. Genetix Theme - Gene King.... 3,2,1 Take off and touch down. 22.11.07 Zone 13 Remix - Sambarella . love samba, and this pees big time in that pot. And got to love those tough female vocals. I used to be in a Samba band. Not too sure what zone 13(texas??)(tilburg holland?) Im sure I got lost there too once. 21.11.07 Son of Raw – Dennis Ferrer . No one can re invent house music but dennis ferrer seems to have shifted the gear over the years. A extra edge on electronic soul music. I ve always thought house music sophisticated the dancefloor – not chic way but just that sophistication of conciousness amongst the many. Or at least plays the soundtrack to a mass awakenening. I love this track, like the way it toughs up but every now softness. Body and Soul music.*******20.11.07 Change - The Black Beatnik . I dont know what it is but I tend only get iff on american vocals done in this poetic style; Urban UK accents just do not hit me. I think its a different level of warmth. Though George Bush singing this would be irritating *** 19.11.07 Pillowtalk - Spencer gray featuing Heather Johnson and Robert Owens .. In my eyes robert owns can do no wrong.. I am inspired by all projects he does. Many house songs fail where this succeeds. Its right on target. Slightly leftfield but still universal. And this mix is shit hot. 18.11.07 Feel It by ??? ( but im gonna find out) First heard on a Larry Heard mix, this is a SHOW BUISNESS STOPPER. If I cant feel this I cant feel shit. Its just pure drama. Its the entrance , its the show, its applause. *********** Funky Mix - by I dunno??? A couple of tune into one I guess ...God knows who this is by but I like it a lot. Not too easy, in fact a challenge until self conciuosness is lost and one rides. Bop bop. Actually its fucking mental. ************Deadline 2012 - Enzyme Black -Danny Lewis . Its probably too late to wake up, stay asleep in the dream. There is a conciousness being tapped into with this track title. Personally I dont think its about prophecies. Our brains got bigger when we started eating meat apparently. I got this theory much diseases cancers etc comes from that. And anyway, if our brains did get bigger then why are us intelligent beings destroying ourselves? I love beef though. And a nice bit of suculent lamb goes down well any sunday with roast potatoes and mint sauce. *****Dust - Recloose .. Its sunday, and Im a little racy this morning. A bit impatient feeling. *** Love U so -DJ felix/ Carol Jiani . Trance states may be consciously and intentionally induced, or they may occur involuntarily and unbidden.( from wikipedia)******17.11.07 I LOVE TO LOVE BY JODY WATLEY & MAW Not Inia To be in Love. "I hate to hate" seems a contradiction , but probably true. I defnitely "hate to hate." Love Strain - Kym Mazelle-Morgan King (probably she sings to me :) ).. Start to tremble indeed. Camp as a row of tents, with the intensity of a boxers right hook. Reminds me of some of the very nice nights, oblivious to the big con.*** 16.11.07 Through your Eyes - Skymark .This is probably what a sampler and a synth sound like when they make love with eachother and orgasm in synchronicity. Pass the tissues.... or rather the ultra sonic wire cleaning sysytemo ******Black Gold of the Sun - Nu Yorican Soul. What a JUXTAPOSITION. It surprises me even how I freak to this. 15.11.07 Flextone - Liquid Liquid ( brenna green mix) LL were a huge influence on modern dance music. I just love this mix, its just out-there dis-self concious dance music. Another one of those track that taps into my mind somehow , reminds and warns at the same time, while Im celebrating the confusion ( no i aint on drugs - just a great musical journey)***Fresh Like Sushi - Passion vs Obsession .... bet this sounds good in a club on a top system played by a DJ who knows. Its not important where we are going, and its only intresting where we been. 14.11.07 Glad I found You - DJ Gomi (Scott Wozniak°) ****** 13.11.07 ( How wierd, pure coincidence that I put these two classic trax today, its exactly 6 months since I been playing this music blog...house music all life long) House Music Anthem - Marshall Jefferson Im a house version of some 60s70s punk who cannot let go of Velvet Underground , but I believe this, nothing has managed to capture the feeling, the renaissance of modern life like house - whatever that is, but it certainly , like other music genres has got something to do with freedom.**** My House - Rythm Control ... Unless your deep into the vibe of house, u just aint gonna get it. period.12.07.07 Imagination Limitation - Henry Schwarz 11.11.07 Love for You - Scuba feat lisa Shaw ----Francoiis K is one of the supreme selectors on this planet 10.11.07 You glow- lavicious.. pure electronic drama 8.11.07 Money dont let it catch it u - junior***Bring enough to spill - chuck Love ****Beautiful Thing - Chuck Love feat Fourfeet----2.11.07 Bottoms Up - with gene perz .. For all the lthr chap guys *****1.11.07 Changin - Linda clifford.... just awesome31.10.07 Thriller - Michael Jackson " the funk of 40 000 years" Still one of the funkiest Halloween songs .. it was a 12 inch Thriller ;) 30.10.07 African dream - Halo Kemal . Let it rain!***Pacific State - 808 State -- Jesus H Christ this is from 20 years ago...a waterfall dancefloor experience 29.10.07 Brastep - Jazztronic . Sometimes I let go, sometimes I need to hold on. Hardcore is intensity not volocity. 28.10.07 Love Connection - Fanatix feat Alex Mills... If the most primal emotions are fear and excitement, then love has both these qualities. 26.10.07 One Day My Love - N Dea Davenport ...I got this weakness 25.10.07 Snowflake - Trentemoller .... Music for epic soulboys. ***The Drones - Hugo Paris . A bit of mad music to remind me not to take it so seriously 24.10.07 YOUR LOVE - Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principle. At least a 22 years old track produced by a man that pioneered a sound that shaped the music world and most other areas of this fragile culture and continues to do so. And the song tells us how it is. Love IT.*****Cant get Through -Miguel Migs feat L.T 23.10.07 Feel Up - Grace Jones I never heard this before but its amazing. Always been a fan of Grace Jones. In fact I believe the Im not perefect track was one of of my first 12 inches.NOBODY DOES THE ELECTRO ( i hate that term) DIVA STUFF BETTER THAN HER************Way back When - Gene Hunt feat Kate Hay .. Way back when one did not walk over one to get to the Porsche 22.10.07 The Damn Thing - Karizma... Cha! Cha! Jacking Cha!...... ******Sex You - Paper cut . Im not the biggest fan of 'Industry Electro' but the unzipping sounds of this track are indeed quite sexy. Think Id prefer instrumental. 21.10.07 Make Me want you - ( will have to ask my Diva specialist who it is) Its early nineties, a time when house music took some serious shifts in gear. Reminds me of being in between the North and South Pole. ****** Someone Like You - Sylvester Especially for the hairy bears out there who hate HOUSE but love DISCO ;)******** My life's my daughter - DJ OGW Out of breath ( aka breathless) dance music ******* Mars - Martino .. CLASS 20.10 07 The Dawn - deepa grooves feat Sharona I will never get tired of this groove, to some its ''''lounge'''.. to me? Its deep get down dirty dance music *******19.10.07 I surrender - Lady Miss Lier 18.07.07 Bodydrummin - Afefe Uki Why do we dance anyway?*****Under the Radar - Opolopo . Its no wonder we sometimes feel like superstars. 17.10.07 ESL - Fish Go deep . I may be a bit of a lad, and this is the thing, when I was a kid I used to write musicals. And Blaze are arguably one of the most contributing music guys in the biz. 15.07.07 Was that All it Was - Jeane Carne . Is HOUSE a product of it in a way that is more pathalogical than free-ing? just a thought. The uniqueness of what I experienced as a teenager in House is supremely dwarfed by all those jitterbuggers. 19.9.07 Everybody Want to rule the World - Neil Aline **************18.9.07 Baby - Afefe Iku Youth seems to be a topic i been bumping into a lot recently.. or rather what constitutes 'grown up'. I got no conclusions - but are there any, anyway? 10.09.07 I go Deep - (Ithink its... Rowland somebody) remix by Yass I been accused of being too deep. Actually, its a compiment ;)7.09.07 Ive Had enough - Frankie Knuckles. Of course Ive not had enough, energy is eternal, at least life long. Ive had enough bullshit thats for sure. Oh yeah, and I heard a dub versionm of this years ago and that " enough " chorous is to CRY FOR 24.08.07 Youre a Star - Aquarian dream ... first heard on the ID magazine tape in the early 80s and I was hooked ******what is the fucking date today, with this sun , Im clueless Insurrection - The soul Jazz Orchestra****21.08.07 Voyager -Dexter Wensel Yet another soundtrack, and yes sometimes the voyage is as exciting as this. Only ever hear this kind of stuff at the southport weekender. I had my psychadelicdelic music expo when I was a 16 year old and then got totally in house. Funny thing is I keep on bumping into it again recently. Trippy! 19.8.07 Nu Tech Shyt, by Anto Vitale: Electric!Doesnt surprise me that anti depressants are a result of rocket science. Curently in lisbon cafe , no headphones but i heard this the other day and loved it. 17,08,07 Theorema del Faya - Anto Vitalae :::Pure!!!!17.08.07 Closer than Close - Rosie Gaines - one of my all timers 16,8,07 Love..s Masquerade - 280West feat Diamond Temple 16.8.07 Brand New Feeling - Roy Ayers Fanatix rmx 13.08.07 Stray Away - The Rebirth********11.08.08.07 Turntable Orchestra - Gonna miss me got stoned in hollan for a day whence the delay *****6.8.07 Piano Days - Justin Imperiale (Yuu records)***Kutparra-Aardvarck Just moved again and climatising to the change, next stop is a place of my own. ****6.7.07 Hark- Livio *******5.7.07 Rumours - Andy Ward ********4.8.07 Show Me - Stephanie Cooke Im a big fan of this ladys voice and songs. Yes, im an egomaniac and this song is dedicated to my innerself. 3.8.07 Rainy day reprise - mr A.L.I (i assume)3.8.07 Sequencer - Force of Nature 2.8.07 Mars - Martino Why Im so grateful about myspace? Cos I get to know who makes fab deep tracks like this. First heard on deephousepage, this is just truly out there. 31.07.07 The Word Is Love -Voices of life featuring Sharon Pass . 31.07.07 Din Da Da - George Krantz I think Din Da da is Hi Hi German for ' what the fuck is going on?' An expression that along with Einstein, I often often ask and feel celebrated in doing so, especially on the dancefloor. Defnitely one of my favourite of all timers, sexy super electronic dance music. What I love about it most, besides those squeaky de de de ed e de deee, is how it appeals to all kinds of music lovers - rap, disco, hardcore, indie, punks and of course all the house heads of the world. 30.07.07 Feel So Good - Jamiroquai (the following is a coded message to a very special Kosmic) Fünfzehn Jahre an der Spitze sind eine lange Zeit, egal in welcher Branche. 9.07.07 Robert Yahne - Drums improv - My drum theory - this was posted by me in 2006 on DEEPSPACENYC.com just want to share some thoughts about the connection between drumming and thinking.............. it's probably innate that we tap our fingers (on chin, ground, table ) when we're thinking....... I can imagine that our ancestors were mystified by seeing themselves drum their fingers , thinking , and then finding solutions to problems(for example).... and before they knew it they were building these little 'membranphones' (posh word for drum)...calling the spirits........our society has been built to the beat of the drum....... (post script) on further thought calling the worms to put in our nomadic packed lunches is also a good starting drumming point28.07.07 kendido - "Mr.Cute?&.dENNEb" To me this maybe be old school but its also faith restoring house 27.07.07 Let the rain come down - (i dont know who, I think Kenny Bobien ?) One day I realised grey was a beautiful colour also, and since then i never (not totally true) complain about the weather. 26.07.07 Hate wont change Me - Byron Stigley ( Quentin Harris) One of those tunes that remind me again of those home-free days stting in the internet cafe, headphones on listening to deephousepage.Although the song kind of refers to two lovers, friends or enemies struggling with non-acceptance, to me it also appeals to that personl jihad within. One might say, I tried to destroy my mind (unconciously then conciously). I drove myself , and some ex s nuts. 25.07.07Faith - ecologist( i think) NY mix This not only blew my head off ...it also set my ass on fire.24.07.07 If there is - Marcus Enochson (alvarez remix)Bet this sounds good bouncing thru the room of a club. 24.07.07 The Main thing - Roxy Music ( rub n tub mix) Dont know the original but this is a super deep slide into sexy dance mode. 23.07.07 Changin - Lynda Clifford I know her songs but never paid much attention to name .. I asociated her with trashy hi energy and Dallas ( this is true - I thought Lynda Gray who played su ellen and Cliff(ord) barnes) and somehow the electricity in my brain threw out a trshy 80s babe. Even, I was aware frankie held her up ther as a Great. But somehow I just never picked the real Lynda Clifford up till recently. And FUCK, is she great. One of my favourite words in song is CHANGE. ( also weather words) 23.07.07 Besides Myself - Foremost Poets .Just totally awesome garage house music. 22.07.07 Matter of Time - Sir Frankie Knuckles! Is this doesnt get me dancing, hopping or skipping , nothing will. 5 was listeing to an old mix cd of frankies the other night - it brought it all back. Why Ive worshipped this guy. And thats just one of his studio produced CDs. His live mix tapes - Im just so grateful. (I could be way off here, but its the negative space( a word that the sound god keeps putting before my eyes recently) that I get with this tune) of this and 21.07.07 Passing Time - Mood II Swing 21.07.07 Love Vibrations - Barbara Tucker 21.07.07 The Grunt - Peter Funk - these kind of tracks take it to the bone 20.7.7 Runny - D'Julz (berkson and what mix) always love to click with something. This is reminiscent of that old sophisticated clicking. 20.07.07 Hebrides Overture - Mendhelson This was the first classic I ever got to know and even studied in Music class at school. Always the exagerator, I had to buy the record. What strikes me listening to it again after many years is how deeply sadly full of hope it becomes. The distance between the back and the front is spacey. 19.07.07.07 If u Want it - Vula.. Current status: sat in internet cafe ona hot day with a stupid fan blowing on my back..with dodgy volume 18.7.06 Puro Nomumbah - Afro-Cuban Bata Project 17.06.07 The Light - Michelle Weeks I have a this sensitivity to gospel. One of the best attitude adjusters I know. 16.07.07 Love is all Aound - Brenda Durmann (instr/undergr. net. mix) Happiness can drive me round the bend. 15.07.07 Black mahogani - Moodyman This is my kind of trance. 14.07.07 Release - Ursula Rucker .I used to hate poetry- then things like this happened. 13.07.07 Love Games - level 42 Its the gay euro games here in Antwerp, and seeing that i was a reserve subsitute foor the school football team, and broke my hand twice when I played volletball practising for the gay volleyball team, i decided not to particpate. All the same I just love this funky song.13.7.07 Possibilities - Alton Miller/Lady Linn Love songs are not only about person to person relationships ..for me anyway 12.07.07 Visions - Robert Owens This is one of those lyricals that has stayed in my head for a long time... must admit though my vision was a bit clumsy looking. 11.07.07 Oh Well - Tamara Wellons ..I have mostly been in relationships , live in relationships. Being on my own is both freaky but also I experience new feelings and values. It was easy to play the player when I was in relationship but not so rewarding when single. Oh well, this is gotta be a good thing. Its truly amazing the negative(suggestive) feedback and 'dishonesty' (assumed) I get when I say im not into playing around with other guys partners. Oh well, this is what I started! It seems I make a better ex anyway. And at least I can dance to the feeling. 10.07.07 You Groove me - Kemdi/John Cutler ....... I just got this soft spot for latin house groove, that gets hard when I start dancing to it ;) 10.07.07 Still in Love with You - Melissa Morgen.. After at least 2000 years of being informed about love. 9.7.07 - Ooh I love it (love break) - Salsoul orchestra . Reminds me of my sister practising the catwalk and her singing 'ooh i love it' badly..... Love was the message. 09.07.07 To the Brain - Force of Nature ... I was dripping. 8.7.07 Mindwarp - Patrick Cowley. Not bad for 1982. Beautiful noises and sounds. I once heard that what house did, was take all the 'tacky' bits out of disco/hi energy. Good DJs , I reckon, could still make this sound supersonically mind bending. 8.7.07 Barramundi - Alix Alvarez This kind of stuff just jumbles with all those electrons in my head and sends my body into a twisted wheel. Underwater and outerspace.7.7.07 Days Like this - Shaun Escoffrey Im defnitely enjoying finding all these tunes on myspace. I was never a trainspotter, it didnt matter too much to me who it was. What mattered is, how it felt. But it never surpised me to find out that this or that was by my heroes. And Dj Spinna is someone whose sound I , coincidentally (?) love. And this song. Dont think they ll be singing at Live 8. 07.07.07 The right Time - Monday Michhiru Another one of those tracks that I used to listen to on deehousepage in the internet cafe, when i was home-free and life was desperate but also free. I just used used to put the headphones on and be imagine what this sounded like in the club. a song that speaks the truth. Im only ready to know, when Im ready to know. 6.7.07 Pendulum - Yevin Yost reminds of the Vasquez days, desperate tranny mc , alwys got off on the contrast though 6.7.07 Tonight-Dajae Hopefully, soon , Ill be on dancefloor with Dajae giving guidance. 5.07.07 Join in the chant - Niter Ebb This to me is soulful dance music. I been lucky to have a boyfriend into pure soul and one into pure industrial. this song seeps from the global to the personal in 3 and half minutes. 07.07 Thank You - Be BE Winnans .Its true, the USA people seem to have the monopoly on GRATEFUL. I go back to 20, 000 years ago(or whenever). I imagine the first time one of us animals experieinced gratitude, but was unable to express it beyond an action such as a smile, or a stroke, no words . I bet they banged the floor. If htis song was written by an english counterpart it would have been called ' cheers' 5.7.07 Prelude - Zurya Drum Colaboration. *******Think for yourself Day. ****Morning Child - 4 Hero ;I just love this version of good music. Someone very special said ' the days begins and ends with me' , its a good job I am an early bird, cos the morning is my favourite part. *** Fortress Europe - Asian Dub Foundation . I had a date,I died my hair very dark brown, my girlfriend suggested I dye my eyelashes, she didnt rub enough creme proetctor on my eyes , I eneded up looking like a panda, only lemon juice got it off. So I go to this date with eyes that look like vaginas ( which is probably ok on every scene except the men-men scene). The guy was a sexy muscled DJ boxer , he was the first gay I met into that 'jungle' sound. I love these beats, not all thru the party but they defnitely have a place on the dancfloor for me. 4.07.07 Aji - Zagora. What's that feeling??? What is it?? Its fucking house....thats what it is. Funny thing is, my ex boss used to say this kind of stuff makes him angry. Me too, but as kenny everet used to say, in the best possible taste. Anger, with a hard one and a smile ;) oh yeah and its independence day today , my mate told me independant in dutch is -zelfstandig -. Self standing, how cool. Also, seeing that this track is written, I believe, by some french duo,at least one is from Arab descent and they are carrying the house tradition that the USA guys created - shows me, just how cool this world really can be. And that all that cartoon style 'anti this, anti that' is best left in some history book for someone to laugh at in the future. Think idependantly , act as one. (just made that last bit up - it smells good but Im not sure it makes sense) I even ran an anti-kylie campaign in when i was 16. 3.07.07 Time Will Tell - Nu Shooz. Defnitely having a cosmic day today. Most importantly its frankie remixing this. Secondly, just love those crackles at the beginning. This paticular sound is just taking me back, the adavntage of this tempo for me is that I have the sounds for a longer time. I hear it all. And what an intro. I couldnt wait sometimes but eventually time did indeed tell. My sister used to practise the catwalk to a few tunes and the other Nu Shhooz was a fave of hers. 3.07.07 KJee - MFSB - brings up lots of memories and asociations. Gareme Park used to play Love is the Message by MFSB, and I remember those deep rattle noises ( bad at instrument identification sometimes ) from it. And while my body felt like a waterfall due to xtc obviously , those noises just intensified the feeling. Not a death rattle but a love rattle. My ex who was a norhtern soul freak told me, that MFSB meant mother fucking son of a bitch , it wasnt until a few years back that it probably refers to Mother father Sister Brother DUHHHHH!!! suppose depends how I feel before I listen to them 3.07.07 I want your Love - Chic Still sends a chill down my spine. Not old enough to hear it in the disco forst time round. It reminds me again of the soul room at the Southprt Weekenders, in fact it also reminds me of Flesh , Hacienda ( carzy how the mind works, yesterday was looking at the profile of DJ Paulette, who played it to often) - I got a dirty mind and some of these lines are classic and sublime ' i grab my pillow and squeeeeeze it tight'. I dont believe anymore in cliche disco just untimely played disco. Desperate trannie music or sophiticated boogie music? it really depends 2.07.07 Life goes On - Arnold Jarvis Think if one stripped this track down to its most basic eleements Id still feel the vibe. Ive always maintained that if I had a voice Id love to be backing singer, but then Id amso have to be reborn a girl. Must be a psychological thing going on that Im so attacted and often focus on the backing vocals. This track is one of my favourite tracks. It just blows, punches, kicks, sends me. Ive never heard it in a club scenario - which says more about my apathetiscm towards club culture than not being in the right places at the right times. But then Life Goes .. the party is over, .. it goes on, it goes on, it goes on , it goes .. loving loving you :) 1.07.07 TEARS - FRANKIEI:SATOSHI/ROBERT this is the beuaty of electronica ..... 1. he said 01.Jul. - 16:12 nice taste in music, man :-) 2. then he said 01.Jul. - 17:14 and that link of urs could teach us gays about the kwik fuck ;) 3. so he rplied 01.Jul. - 17:23 :-)already putting "tears" online? 4. so he thought fuck it, im smiling hes smiling 01.Jul. - 17:38 norammly I only do one tune a day but if Im bored , like today, i tend to exagerate :) Its thier now .............they dripped and they they dropped 1.7.07 Back from Space- DJ OGW Too hung over to be coherent - who was that song? and there must be more!. 1.7.07 cascades of Colour - Ananda project. A totalBody and soul moment, its one os those songs that it dont matter if Im not listening to the the words properly( often done)) I just know where there coming from. Another first time heard, being homeless blah blah , sat in an internet cafe and feeling like theres got to more to it than this. .. cos, of that feeling. Will feelings exist in 1000 years time? Thats a horribly sad thought...... bit too deep ;) 30.6.07 Yoruba in the house......... one night in 10 minutes. I just had to put the headphones on and not destinate. 29.6.07 Jackin Tyme - Ron Hardy How this kind of thing used to sound in the Hacienda, almost as if it was built for house music. A true head fucker yet soul grabber. Though not acid house , per se,Im reminded of returning from a a few months away working away in a holiday camp and going back to the Number 1 club, the only gay club that played good music then. I took acid and within minutes I was jacking. I assumed ;)28.6.07 song 2 Bel amant - Hannah Hais 5 (bel amant = beautiful man version of mistress) Whenever I think about french dance music I think about Laurent Garnier, he was my boss when i worked at dry 201 in manchester . A chef. And francois K, who made a great dub of French song called .. uuhm.??. I aint no trainspotter. 28.6.07 Sambalicious _ richard les crees ( to be honest have no clue who or what it really is) I was once in a samba band and it was a trip.. being able to produce the rythyms that actually make me shake. Sure the term is wrong also, but when I was a kid my mum used to play honky tonk on the piano, which those backing keys remind me of. Still havent learn to do the samba dance but i certainly give it good go. Some djs play this and its cliche.. others (few) play this sort of style and its a sophisticated dancefloor experience - or.. am I taking it all a bit too seriously :)27.6.07Essence of a dream - Mr K Alexi ( could have lived without pete's tongue wrapping the mic) But this music sends shivers down my spine , hearing sounds like this way back when I was a teeny bopper shit faced on sweat and endorphines. I would be jumping and spinning and basically whatever my body decided. It was a classic bring the body and the mind would follow. I get sentimental. 26.06.07 Love Someone - Robert Owens A deep deep experience whenever I hear Robert Owens. I reckon its like the best wines or brandys, an aquired taste. Its been a long time since I heard someone play something like this at the peak hour, I can really peak on this kind of track when the DJ plays it and it makes sense.. I also am probably about to embark on a relationship which ticks all the boxes. 5.6.07 song 2 One Dream - Elements of Life Orchestra.. when I saw the opening to the game in Florida and saw Louie vega and Anane doing this , i nearly cried. These guys always seem to arrive at the right places at the right moments. Maybe they dont get much mainstream chart success despite their monumental influence on dance music. And then the lyrics, I m 75 per cent sure there is universal conscience. Cos I been busy with this idea recently andf then my heroes bring out a song referring to this. I even think this world would be a better place if there was one leader. Someone nice though!! 25.06.07 Da Bump - Miss Patty and Mr V énd play but all that mr V stuff is so good connected. And ..I defnitely feel l;ike humpty fucking dumpty today 24.6.07 Everybody ( i thi nk) Mr V .. just got back from a weekend that involved swiss (ex) millioà nairs, guns, and french foreign legion, and a good heazlthy dose of paranoia .. nightlife cosmic energy was in a spin this weekend23.6.07 nights over egypt - incognito .. reminds me of going crazy to louie vega at paradiso with gene perez jamming wearing the baggiest leather pants I ever saw.. almost beat my leather beach shorts22.6.07 The World- Stirling Ensemble When I dj d I think I picked up about everyhting MAW records released. It was a sound, such as this, I really loved playing in the leather/ S and M bars.. a beautiful contrast. and those beats!!! 21.6.07 Coming home - Behrouz (i thin k) for some reason this reminds me of the nite dancing to DJ elias at la demanche. Celtic deep 17.06.07 All I have in me - Young Disciples The road album that this is taken from is arguably the most played album I have. I remeber hearing the original for this for the first time and being blown away. Ill never forget the conversation me and my mate had.. he asked me who I would cry for if they died.. I said Frankie Knuckles he said Nelson Mandella, well Nelson would be the second .. but he got my drift. 15.6.07 waiting is over - faze action .; if im waiting too long i have to get ready 14.06.07 In the trees- faze Action .. This is what I call deep sexy house... stinks of sophistication plus Ifeel like a monkey at the moment;;;; swinging from tree to tree ********Set me Free - myron Butler Love gospel, reminds me of the time I went to hear a gospel choir sing christmas carols in the Paradiso amsterdaqm,; cry baby 13.06.07Song nr 2 And I am telling You - Jennifer Hudson .This song was played by my mother to me regularly but the Jenifer Holiday version. It is probably the most emotionally churning song I know. A song I could have song to my loves of my life. Still brings a tear to eye. The David Lachapelle Hand M advert using Tammy and Mary J is a killer on the emotions too. Its takes me there... Sonfg 1 Loves Holiday - Lala Hathaway Im a sucker for 70s and 80s soul. 12.06.07 What Im Saying - Angel Moraes feat. Dana Songs of hope and reality do it for me, I have to identify with the song on some level (songs that claim Everbody is Free I dont get) This song probably refers to an ex love but I also interpret it as a song to my innerself. 10.06.07 Love Someone - Robert Owens .. For me, it dont get much deeper than Robert Owens. I just love the tension. And then the ... sweet release...09.06.07 Mambo Mongo - Mongo Santa Maria I used think I could do the mambo, it probably looked more like a mumbo jumbo.. Another reminder of those crazy jazz sessions at the southporot soul weekender 08.06.07 Fugue in G Minor - Johan Sebastian Bach . I just love Bach!!!! A fugue is a mix of two tunes. Chilled and deep. Opinion alert - I can hear techno!!!!07.06.07 Some Luvin - Murk. Always luvd Murk. A track like this makes me smile in the face of all the new 'electro' sound - on the cover of a magazine ;)Simple soulful electronic music for my complicated head..06.06.07 Freedom Make it funky - Black magic Not only is freedom one of my favourites words/pastimes, I completletely freaked when I first heard this. Could have been the song I sang to my ex s who , bless them, couldnt handle my love for HOUSE.......... Feels bad?????? Feels good!!!!!!!!!!! My Life is Muzik - Felix the Housecat ........... ENOUGH SAID!!!!04.06.07 runaway - Nu Yorican Soul Runaway - Nu Yorican soul Soundtrak to my life I suppose , or could it be run towards... this song is a beauty 03.06.07 Native Tongue - Osunlade Another producer that I have never heard played in gay spaces.. though I dont go out too much these day I djd a few times , and a couple of times in a gay leather bar and got off on playing his stuff there. Afro-dizziac!!! oh yeah, and when ilved in HUll I was in a samba band bam bam bam O02.06.07 You been gone too long ( i think its called this) - Anne Sexton My ex who I am indebted to in many ways (if ever u read this- I trying to get hold of you ) was a proper northern souler. He introdused me big time to northern soul:rare grroove. Watching guys dance to this speeding their tits off is an awakening. This is my easy listening. I get the feeling house might follow a similer route.. there is so much good stuff that gets ignored .. but its their for the futire electronic archeologists. deep soul!!! 01.06.07 Raise- Jocelyn Brown Have always loved her voice and the music form this track reminds of when I first heard drum and bass... then Im sure the influence was jazz. I can remember letting go to his beat it was different from the regular house. I wouldnt go for it all night to it but if a Dj dared to play the odd tune it was a treat. I firmly believe that , as per a quote from deephousepage.com .. Good djs play modern music and great Dj play all the stuff from the last 30 years and still make it work . Also, I also go with the idea that I dont go to clubs to hear stuff that I hear everywhere in my every day life.. but thats just me. 31.05.07 Itchy Dog - Jesse Rose Reminds a bit of the acid days without the hard acid noices... i also love dub... It took me a while to realise how useful dubs were to DJs.. I love the teasing affect dub gives me. 30.05.07 The cure and the cause _ Fish Go deep Im not too sure where I heard this first but I believe it was a Larry Heard Mix on deephousepage.com I just found out its by some Irish guys.. COOL cos Im half Irish.. SYMPHONIC IRISH DEEPHOUSE super... cure me? house music is my cure This is the kind of track that on my favourite dancefloors could peak a night, on other lesser floors its probably considered warm up. SEXY!!!29.05.07 Rain - not too sure who its by ... I remember asking a dj in my teens how he knows whatr to play next.. he said its a feeling .. a higher power moment.. that stuck with me, funny that yeastrdays song was sunshine and my first search came up with a song about Rain.. one of favourite words in song.. Its deep as hell , dont even really know what hes saying but it just makes sense.. we love the sun but the rain is a source to all life equally .. especially if ur a fish 28.05.07 Every body loves the sunshine- Roy ayers ( laughing is a big turn on for me, and this intro is the one)Took a long to realise.. but the greatest gift I can give anyone is feeling called GOOD .. and with humour is my speciality Keep on smiling its been a long time in creation and it just gets bigger and bigger 27.05.07 Mike Dunn - god made me phunky ... First heard at the Number 1 club, Manchester.. and of course getting off on the beats then, hearing the lyrics - a self fulfilling prophecy ............. and yes, im so so so glad HE made me that way. 26.0507 Rokit - Herbie Hancock I can egt deep to this classic 'electro' track - to be true im not too keen on the nu electro unless it has some serious funk behind it. remember watching the video on top of the pops and hearing thoses congos or whatever percussion type it is; Its sooooo sexy. A breakdance classic but to me a super dance tunce. Gives me a very happy feeling. A scratch in my pants. 25.05.07 Tarzan _ Roy Ayers I worship this guys sense of feeling. Another musician/sound I would love to hear more in gay clubs This track takes me back to being ( for the first time)in La Demance (upstairs) last year daning to The Rej-Ame Track.. totally freaking , being teased like mad by DJ Elias, hes music was so good I even forgot the darkroom existed hehehehe. .. This track ,its so Jane but tough like tarzan also... heard it first on a Larry Heard mix and even then it took me deep into the jungle 24.05.07 Keep on Shining - Raw Artistic Soul ... keep on bone shaking more like. I would defnitely be clapping my hands and stomping my feet. 23.05.07 Luv dancin - Underground Solution Dont care what what anybody tell me, this track with its butch beat is relevant. Reminds me of the time me and my best girl mate used to get totally shitfaced on Rum and Coke and E, we were like eachothers muses, I loved dancing with her.I still prefer getting down with a sexy girl than guy.. probably cos its just about dancing. The funny thing was she was in with all these sexy gangsters, i was like their tokenistic puff; dancing gangster style indeed. another funny thing was it seemed a certain part of the gay scene thought I was dodgy cos I hung out with them, things got a bit out of control one night when one of the firm mis-recognised a fellow gay in a gay club , mistook him for a grass and beat the shit out of him.. not nice .. then I started to be less seen with them. Fighting and LUV DANCIN dont mix 22.05.07 When Back when - Gene Hunt ft Kate kay . Love glenn undergound productions; Love jumping round to this beat - not belgian stule jumping have to say. The wah wah and the hi hats, and the funk just send me. I LOVE DEEPHOUSE and THIS IS WHY. Just reminds me of being in the zone. 21.05.07 Melanie Williams Everyday Thing... Frankie Knuckles doesnt do things willy nilly.. even I could write a bang bang track.. but I know when I hear his stuff its a gift from his sexy feeling part of the brain and not from his ego, its classic Frankie but always with a twist. I read much about him and know how important song writing is to him. This is the kind of track that I celebrate life to , despite all the shit goes on in my personal life as a human being. It thuds rather than bangs. I wish there wer more gay places that pissed in this pot ;;; another opinion alert... Lov and TRUST u Frankie!!!! and Melanies voice aint that bad either !!!!!!20.05.07 Michael Jackson - Dont stop till you get enough .... if there s is someone on this planet that has been crucified unnecessarily - opinion alert ! He is freaking genius as is Quincy Jones who must the moost ecelectic producer on the planet. Its deep and superficial at the same time to me, and thos string are having a converstaion with eachother :) I remeber my sister getting this for christmas way back then and I used to do the whole hairbrush mirror thing to it, when my mum was out shopping. I love it when this or something like is played after an intense all night sweat. Very few djs can get away with playing this and sound cool. I heard a story that Larry Levan was fired from a club in NYC cos he played ABC or something like 3 times on a row.. maybe cos hes a top hero of mine but when i read the story.. it made sense to me. The song as part of a set also reminds me when graeme Park would play get into the groove by madonna or i wanna dance with somebody by whitney in the middle of all that underground stuff.... SWEET RELEASE and a reminder at least in the twighlight zone not to take every thing so seriously... which is relevant tonight cos I had a irratating night at work.. Never StoP... theres never enough **************************19.05.07 Weekend - todd terry rmix....... FUCK IT ITS THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Second song for 18.05.07 Runanawy_ Nu yorican soul _ - Just had a real shitty date and feel not good.. so come to myspace and the SOUND god drives me to this song.. and it brings up some real stuff. Absolutely one of the best albums I ever bougth, played it to death. To think I was at the same southport soul weekender where the concept of this album was born, if I believe the press good, is coooool. Masters at Work have been a mainstay in all that my house experience is...I love them; they can do no wrong. This outro:intro version is heavenly. I love the full version on the album. India has the voice gift for sure. And the title, RUNAWAY, soundtrack to my life but I knew inside I was actually running towards also. if Fantasy was my first drug of choice then running away was the first high.. get a tear in my eye***************************** 18.05.07 Bria's Offering - Boddhi Satva . I just went surfing on myspace and this was the 3rd track i came across. The power of the sound god!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the tune from god knows where, I thinks deephousepage.com or a mix Cd by one of my heroes. One thing that pisses me off is the whole labelling of music... its a cliche and despite efforts to clarify, HOUSE to me is still a feeling. When loubge became the buzz word I felt almost sick with despair - opinion alert - Im sure some of the people ive met judge a tune based on listening to it on a transistor radio. David Mancuso once faously said in his sleeve notes to The LOFT comp that dj ing was all about the physics of sound- or something like that - thats why I aint no DJ probably cos im about as sceintific as a monkey ;). But when I hear a tune like this I know how its gonna sound on the dancefloor so I see it as an intense dance track. Ok not banging but intense. I loooooooove intense. A simple classic track - simply beautiful. Sounds great LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**************************************** *********** 17.05.07 Jazzies groove -Jazzie B soul 2 soul I rememeber the instrumental version. Played late late late late. The soul and body just took the fuck over .. i just loved the ' i need a ' hook. For me songs like this epitomise the butch and camp, the hard and soft, BASS and treble of soul music. This song is MY GENERATION , sophiticated urban. Personal interprations yet unifying. I only get off to tunes that have these qualities. I remeber working at the hacienda and graeme Park played a set most of the night with this beat, it was a few years after the release of the tune. I especially remeber him playing this swing beat and then in came Whitney Houston Im ur baby tonight.. the club was full of Ravers, Gangsters, Dealers, and The fab SET .. it was awesome!!!!!!im sure then we called it swing beat..; I NEED A .....LOVING RACE ******************** 16.05.07 Standing right here - melba moore .. what a peach!!! First heard this when the Queer Nation djs played it at flesh at the hacienda... Flesh was a huge event in manchester and in its early set up stages I was invited to its preliminary meetings.. i thought id hit the btime. the promoter wanted my and my friends experience with the club we had run trade.. not Trade in London, fynny enough, yes, we had the name first Trade .. coinidental cos trade was in 1989 .. when i heard this song i remember watching a girl sining to it and i thought? I never heard this , how come?? i loved the promised me LOVING line in it.. and the intro literally blew me away.. it wasnt till years later that I found out who it was. it reminds me a bit of country and western . This song could have sung to me by my ex's cos .. often I would go partying returning days later.. sometimes ending up in a different country!!!!!******************** 15.05.07 House Music Anthem -Marshall Jefferson - Like many of the chicago classics.. how many tunes would not have been moved to with out the creation of this song? A Hacienda Classic that took me on a rollercoaster.. and yes, with the superior quality ecstasy then, unified me with all the gangsters and hooligans that used to party with my and my clique back then... a clique/crew that was like a discipleship to everything that was fabulous then. The underground... this track was played for at least 3 years solid and prob due to the whole DJ mixing movement that was being established was able to be spun and still sound fresh.. even today I love it when DJs are playing the new sounds and now and then u hear them refernce tracks like this. Italo house ( a big cheese smily version could never existed without trax like this) never would have Rode on Time with out this kind of stuff.....it set me free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................................... ................. 15.05.07 Steve Silk Hurly - Jack Your Body (hopefully)- tune unavailable to stream and i aint no tekkie...My beautiful sister was a model, it was a classic ugly duckilng story. She bought this song and practiced the catwalk to it at home. It was already a classic by the time Id reached the hacienda in 87, when they were playing a Luther track then Public Enemy then a house track , before the format became house only in most other clubs. The con-fusion of melody and beats made perfect sense to me at a time. The technological revolution was begining.. the zero one zero programming. I had know real idea about what jacking was besides reading abut it in ID magazine.. not that I jacked per se, but i sure as hell let go and found a freedom of mind that existed then only under the strobe light. I certainly kept fit. **************************** 14.05.07 Arnold Jarvis - inspiration .. i was inspired and reminded to add this song today on my space thru a certain new electronic friend and other heroes. Fist heard at the southport soul:dance weekender circa 1994.. this song hits the spot for me. I been in rough spots a lot recently ( self induced mostly) and I played this a few time over the past years in internet cafes. Arold Jarvis sang Take some time Out;;;;; many many moons ago ( .. one of the first deephouse songs i got deep to ;) he sings songs that speak not only to the rational( not the most rational person on the planet anyway) part of my psyche but mainly to my soul............... one advantage of my turbulent and fun life style ( not growing up basically) has been I stayed teachable and inspired.. today I try to celebrate life, in fact isnt that what we all do? always patting ourselves on the back since we came down from the trees? ;)Im PROUD *********************************************** 13.5.07 The Nightwriters-Let The Music Use You... Frankie Knuckles with a track th
When I first made this mysapce I didnt even have a roof let alone a television!!!!!!!
