Keytown is a nickname for the beautiful old city of Leiden, wich locates between Amsterdam and Rotterdam in Holland. The Key part comes from the citylogo wich shows a lion holding a sword and a shield with 2 crossed keys on it, the keys signafy the openers of the kingdom of heaven. Keytown Sound was formed in the end of 2003, consisting of 3 members: Ard aka Martial, the sound's man on the mic, and selectaz Marcus aka Senior and Leon aka D-Layon. Before Keytown was born, Ard and Marcus first formed Ruff-E-Nuff Soundsystem while Leon took his first step in Reggaemusic in One Blood Sound. Together with their family and friends Hennieke, Yennifer and Marko they started the first, real, one and only Reggae Dancehall bashment in Leiden called The Glue Factory in 2003, wich takes place about 9 times a year and is known as the hottest ting inna the west of Holland for almost 5 years now. The Glue Factory mainly organises dances and concerts with national or international soundsystems and artists in the popvenue of Leiden called LVC. In the past toppatop sounds like David Rodigan, Jah Sound International, Pow Pow, Sentinel, Demolisha, Herbalize It, Black Star, Crucial Sounds, United Sounds, Judah Juvenile, DJ Wrok and The CollectAr already touched the stage, as well as artists like Richie Spice, Turbulence, Queen Ifrica, Ziggi, Papa Aya, Skarra Mucci, Yellowman, Osagyefo, Eek-a-Mouse, Dr. Ring Ding, Papeman, Beef, Dan Stezo and Poor Man Friend. From start, Keytown Sound is The Glue Factory's resident sound, always playing a strong set of Reggae and Dancehall music from old to new and everything inbetween. The rising sound from Holland's nicknames "The Dutch Delight" or "The People's Choice" make clear they always play with positive vibes and full hundred for the massive, because when it's weekend, you're done with work and you wanna go out, it's all about having a good time together without a fuss and some sound playing some weak tunes for themselves. Playing in other venues outside Leiden like Paard van Troje (The Hague), Bitterzoet (Amsterdam) and more made Keytown even more ready and hungry like a lion, their goals right now are to keep Reggae and Dancehallmusic big in hometown Leiden, to be a respected sound in the Reggaeculture, and play at a lot of different places all over the globe as much as they can!
