Born Jepther McClymont, he started recording in 1992 under the name Luciana for labels like Sky High, New Name & Big Ship. Strongly influenced by the late, great Dennis Brown, Frankie Paul & Stevie Wonder.

It was later on that he changed it to Luciano, while often referred to as "The Messenjah" when he was collaborating with Fattis Burrell's X-terminator label where he developed his conscious roots aspect.

After recording several LPs for Burrell he recorded a set for Island records before starting an independent career recording for labels worldwide while developing his own Qabalah label.
