Over two-thirds of violent victimizations against women were committed by someone known to them.On average each year, women experienced 572,032 violent victimizations at the hands of an intimate, compared to 48,983 incidents committed against men.It is estimated that 25% of workplace problems such as absenteeism, lower productivity, turnover and excessive use of medical benefits are due to family violence.Violence is the reason stated for divorce in 22% of middle-class marriages.There are 1,500 shelters for battered women in the United States. There are 3,800 animal shelters. (Sickening, isn't it?)Each year, medical expenses from domestic violence total at least $3 to $5 billion.Every 15 seconds a woman in this country is beaten by her current or former husband or intimate partner.Studies report a range of between two and four million women being abused annually.Domestic violence is the single greatest cause of injury to women.More than half of women patients in emergency rooms report that they have been abused at sometime in their lives.1/3 of all teenagers report having experienced violence in a dating relationship.

On Aug. 12th, 1996 Connie Henry age 42 & Heather Henry age 18 were shot multiple times in Kootenai County Idaho. They both died that night, as well as Heather's unborn baby, she was pregnant! Vern Henry is still at large! Laci Peterson age 27 of Medesto Calif. was murdered as well as her unborn baby Conner on or around xmas 2002, allegedly by her husband Scott Peterson. Scott has been charged w/ murder & is currently in custody! On Apr. 26th, 2003 Crystal Brame age 35 of Tacoma Wa. was murdered in front of her 2 children by Tacoma Police Chief David Brame. David committed suicide.
