About Me

Ginnungagap is a young, Norwegian vocal ensemble consisting of sixteen singers between the ages of 20 and 30. From the start in 1998 the group has sought out new and exiting choral music. The choirs performances are wide ranging; they have given concerts in pubs and cathedrals, they have appeared on national television, and they have won choral competitions in Norway and abroad. Ginnungagap have released two CD's.

HÃ¥kon Nystedt (born 1980) has been musical director of Ginnungagap since 2005. He has studied church music at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and he has studied conducting with Grete Pedersen, Tore Erik Mohn and Ole Kristian Ruud. He is also the conductor of Oslo Chamber Choir.
