The Chamber Choir NOVA, based in Oslo, Norway, consists of 32 singers. A wide repertoire, ranging from renaissance to contemporary music, is our hallmark.
The Chamber Choir NOVA was founded in 2001 by its conductor Anne Karin Sundal-Ask. Originally formed as a exam project during studies at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Grete Pedersen and Tore Erik Mohn, the choir continued after her graduation. In addition to NOVA, Sundal also conduct Norwegian Youth Choir (Norges Ungdomskor), The Norwegian Girls' Choir (Det norske Jentekor) and more.
NOVA’s approach to performance, emphasising the expression of emotion, has given the choir a reputation for giving excellent concerts. The choir also has participated in a number of international competitions, winning several prizes:
