My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Brian Vander Ark, lead vocalist and principle songwriter of The Verve Pipe, sat down with Doug Podell at WRIF during a live broadcast at Comerica Park during Tigers opening day. Brian's new album is "Angel, Put Your Face On".A big night for the Detroit premiere of "Broken" ... Directors David DeLeon and Derek Justice stopped at WDET for an interview before the Detroit premiere of "Broken", a sex, art and drugs film shot for less than $1,000 in Michigan and Ohio. Nearly every one of the 450 seats was sold for the premiere and the film got a standing ovation at the end. The screenplay for "Broken" was also in the top 250 finalists (of about 7,00 entries) for season one of "Project Greenlight", the Bravo TV series sponsored by Miramax, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Watch for the "Broken" premiere in Cleveland on June 23 and (forthcoming) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.DENDURA ON ABC TV (WZZM, CHANNEL 13) IN GRAND RAPIDS: Dendura recently sat down with Stephanie Webb, host of "Take Five" on WZZM TV, to talk about their theme song for a new web show at Comedy Central, their music and their upcoming show with Lennex, the national touring acting featuring Phil Ritchie, a finalist on the CBS primetime reality TV show "Rock Star Supernova".The Bloids are back from SXSW in Austin where they were invited to play the prestigious Blender House stage sponsored by Blender magazine, one of the top music magazines. Their new release "Memories of Things I've Never Done" is produced by Al Sutton (Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Hank Williams Jr., Big Chief). The album features artists including MC Breed, Vinnie Dombrowski, Marlon Young, Jimmy Bones, Chuck Alkrazian, Eric Hogemeyer, Steve Stetson and Allison Friendly who have worked with everyone from the Dave Matthews Band to Tupac to Kid Rock. Watch for upcoming shows.Lee Runchey of Silver Media Group and Dionne Richardson, CEO of Redline Cinema attended the afterparty at Plan B for the Urban Wheels Awards dinner hosted by Vivica Fox and Alex Reymundo. Celebrity guests included Tommy Davidson (Comedian), Kelis (Grammy-nominated hip hop artist), Vickie Winans (Award-winning gospel artist), Tommie Hearns (Former heavyweight champion of the world), Gina Hiraizumi (Actor) and Brian Tee (Actor)."Detroit Unleaded", Rola Nashef's new short film, is fresh out of the starting gate and already generating a buzz. After its premiere at the East Lansing Film Festival, the film hit festivals in Detroit, Seattle, Grand Haven, CT and (forthcoming) South Africa.Producer, songwriter and guitarist Tony Hamera (Ex-Caelum Bliss & Deathgirl.com) has a new project with vocalist Kate Hinote. Ether Aura combines the lush beauty of fuzzy, ethereal rock and lush vocals with the straight-up style of indie rock guitars. The new album is “Before We Could Sing”. If you didn't catch them on 89X, WRIFF/RIFF2, WDET, or during their CD release party (They packed the place so tight that the venue had to temporarily suspend beer sales - they ran out of glasses!) watch for an upcoming show. The Sleepy Guy (Trailer)
