WELCOME TO THE MOTORCITY MUSIC MACHINE. Detroit has long been a power-force in the music industry. "NO OTHER CITY ON EARTH" can claim to have been home to three genres of music - Techno, Funk, and Motown! One could even argue that PUNK started here, in the 60's, with Iggy Pop/Stooges and The MC5. ...On this page, you will find a multitude of videos, from many different artists (past and present), who either lived here, or were influenced by our "diverse" music community...Let's start off ROUND NINE: THE LEADING LADIES OF DETROIT with Aretha Franklin. Too many to mention.
"IF" I can find the time, I seem to gravitate towards The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, Comedy Central, National Geographic, MSNBC, VH-1, and PBS respectively. As for shows, I like The Antique Road Show (love the stories/finds), American Choppers (love the attitude and creativity) and Deadliest Catch (Great Action)! As for network TV, I like local sports (social element) and American's Funniest Home Videos (LMAO)! My favorite TV commercial is by "Liberty Mutual;" it's theme: Random acts of people helping people (carry it forward).
"Tuesdays With Morrie" is one of a handful of books I have read more than once. Of course, a copy of "War and Peace" is good for a quick read...LOL!
As for heros, well you qualify...The map above was just recently posted.
