Heidelberg Project

Detroit is for Lovers

About Me

The Heidelberg Project is art, energy and community. It's about taking a stand to save forgotten neighborhoods. It's about making people think and offering solutions. It's an open-air art environment in Detroit, a restored park in Mt. Vernon, gallery shows, museum exhibits, art programs for children, lectures and workshops, art installations on the streets of Cambridge, Minneapolis and Bloomington, the exchange of ideas, sharing and embracing other cultures and looking at things in a whole new way. It's about healing communities through art - and it's working! For 2007 The Heidelberg Project and Tyree are looking to expand their horizons. As the years pass, we find new ways to spread our message to the far reaches of the globe to get people to start talking and reaching out to one-another.From its inception, The Heidelberg Project on the East side has been the beating heart of a withered Detroit Community. But as the project grows, the layers and systems continue to build. Now HP is involved with two elementary schools-Bunche Elementary which is right around the corner from HP and Commerce Elementary. The HP not only serves as an art environment, but as a Non-Profit organization, we continue to reach out to help as many people as we can. Here's a link to our Official Home Page - Heidelberg Project
