I'm a baaaaaad maaaaaan!

About Me

I play the trumpet, I'm a bit too nice (although I can be a bad dude if need be), I swear too much and I'm just happy. If you to want read more. . .

My Interests

People - Music - Art - Independent (true independent) Films - Romance - Funny-Ass Stuff

I'd like to meet:

Big-minded, small people. . .I don't mind if you're mean, just don't annoy me by posting the same damn bulletins everyday, I'll delete you. If your event is cool, you don't need to be a pain in the ass -

Music:

Most things end in 3's, so - Trumpet: Miles Davis, Chet Baker and Maurice Andre. Composers: Beethoven, Brahms and Gabrielli. Tenors: Jussi Bjorling, Roberto Alagna and Benamino Gigli. Detroit: Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, UR, Kenny Larkin. . . and yes, Proof, I am your friend and a fan too. . .and I wont forget you brother.

Movies:

Cinema Paradiso. . . greatest movie ever made (the original, not that director's cut), Sergio Leone is the man, . . . Scorsese. Anything with Brando, Pacino and DeNiro. Snatch and LS&TSmokingB's are the shit. Basquiat, Romeo is Bleeding and True Romance. . . I guess most anything with Gary Oldman. My newest HIGHLY recommended picture is the incredible "Tsotsi" - unbelievable!

Television:

Entourage, the Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seinfeld re-runs. TLC, The Discovery Channel, PBS (love Nova) and The National Geographic Channel (I'm into learning stuff that, for some reason, I never picked up in music school or at Novi High).

Books:

Kafka's "The Trial" (why I'm so paranoid about THE MAN). Rand's "Fountain Head" and "We the Living". Milan Kundera's "Immortality", "The Book of Laughter and Forgetting" and, of course, the bible - "Unbearable Lightness of Being". Huge fan of John Irving (read everything by him and highly recommend). Laugh out loud with Don DeLillo. Okay, I've actually read Edgar Allen Poe's complete works, not once, but twice - had to make sure I got it (I still am not sure if I do). In my younger years, I was all about Kerouac.

Heroes:

My Mom and Dad, the obvious. Armando Ghitalla (trumpet teacher) and Dave Segraves (amazing swimming coach, teacher and poet). Have some new ones, but they're friends and I don't want to embarass anyone. . . except, Tyree Guyton. He's definitely a hero to anyone touched by his vision. Very recently - I must add that the heroics of the Iron Fist Records family - in particular, seeing the strength, humanity and compassion of Khalid, 1st Born and Dolo will leave a mark in my heart forever.

My parents' 45th Anniversary is Sunday! In this day and age, it's a real testament to not only be alive, but to be married for this long. . .and I couldn't even make it 3 years!
