About Me

News Flash
We Won! Thanks to thousands of emails, phone calls, and rallies by consumers like you, on August 24, 2007 Starbucks committed to serving only 100% hormone-free milk in all of its U.S. stores by the end of this year. Now there's a New Year's resolution we can get behind! Read our press release here.
And, call 1-800-235-2883 to thank Starbucks CEO Jim Donald for doing the right thing. Tell him you're looking forward to New Year's Day and a happy, healthy, hormone-free 2008!
Thanks again for being part of this important victory!

I am a passionate aging dairy cow who enjoys tackling corporate greed as well as long walks on the pasture. I have always been an activist but most recently, I've joined forces with Food & Water Watch to challenge the corporate control and abuse of our food and water resources.First on my list of things to do is to stop Starbucks from using milk produced with growth hormones. Yuck! Did you know that stuff causes serious infections in cows? To combat these infections, antibiotics are pumped into us! Increased use of antibiotics creates antibiotic resistant bacteria which is a serious human health problem! Canada, Australia, Japan, and the European Union have all banned these hormones... Why hasn't the USA?! I'll tell you why. Corporate control! Hrmph! I'm so mad I could moooooooooooooooooow them all over!Anyways, you're probably wondering, "Why Starbucks?" Well, Starbucks is the #1 specialty coffee retailer in the world with over 10,000 stores worldwide. As the industry leader, it has a huge impact on the marketplace, and markets itself as a socially responsible business. Isn't treating cows humanely and providing customers with milk produced without genetically-engineered hormones socially responsible?!?!While I am a sturdy bovine, I can't persuade a big corporation by myself. I need your help! Please go here to find out how you can get involved!

TAKING ACTION
Our water is at risk - the president keeps cutting the funds we need to protect our water for people and the environment. But you can help! Sign this petition to tell Congress to keep our water clean and safe!

I'd like to meet:

Activists of all ages and backgrounds! Also, I wouldn't mind meeting Moopheus... a lot! He's so dreamy. *sigh*P.S. Artificial hormones affect a broad spectrum of people. Therefore, I would like to keep my profile rated G. Please keep this in mind when posting comments. Thank mooooooooooooo! The Meatrix
