EXPERIENTIALISM
Where impermanency and neutrality are considered to be self evident, then experience becomes the keystone to existence.
This is Experientialism!
Let me explain:
The universe is constantly changing. As far as we know, the universe is expanding into an empty void. The theory of gravity suggests that the expansion of the universe is likely to decelerate, stop expanding and then contract until it returns to the super concentrated ball of matter from whence it came. Quite possibly, this will in turn lead to another Big Bang, restarting the cycle once more. Whether this is actually true or not remains to be seen, however it is generally granted that even the tallest mountains will be turned into dust given enough time; nothing in this universe lasts forever.
Values are relative to beliefs. Belief is developed by ones own thoughts and experiences. Different people come to different conclusions on what they believe. One person (person A) may enjoy hot weather more than cold because they were born in a tropical area and have grown accustomed to the heat. Another person (person B) may enjoy bitterly cold weather because they were born in a cold region and grew accustomed to the snow.
Put these two people together in a temperate environment and they will come to completely opposite value judgements:
Person A: The weather is too cool for my liking.
Person B: The weather is too warm for my liking.
Which one is right? Which one is wrong?
It depends on your own beliefs. But, upon deeper inspection, unless we form a belief with which to judge, a value cannot be formed. 20 degrees Celsius is 20 degrees Celsius. It can never be viewed as right or wrong until we overlay our own personal belief structure over the given situation or experience. Even then, someone else with a different set of beliefs could overlay their values and see a completely different picture to you.
This leads to the understanding that the universe is inherently neutral.
If this is true, that nothing will last forever, and nothing you do can be considered as essentially good or righteous, then what can we use as a guide in life? Anything we try to make will be doomed to destruction eventually; anything we try to protect or hold onto will eventually slip through our fingers; trying to live a good and righteous life as instructed by others is dangerously flawed and open to dire mistakes.
We are still here though - alive. What can we do with this life we have been given? What else but use it to explore what we can in the limited time we have in a way that seems best as informed from our own beliefs and desires? We have been given the freedom to experience our own potentiality. To experience is to live!
This is the foundation of Experientialism.
In Experientialism, life is an experience; death is inevitable; nothing need be feared; autonomous experience is ideal; and eroding the potentiality of oneself and others is against the spirit of experientialism.
Freedom/Autonomy
So, the idea is to experience all the manifest potentialities of the universe, and to do so with the recognition of our full potential, unbound by other people's, or external entities', constraints, yet, simultaneously aware that our universe is created by others and that we have influence on others such that can either further experience or impede it.
Therefore, in order to provide ourselves an optimal setting within which to exist freely, one must first provide the same freedom to others. To do otherwise is to sow the seeds of repression, suppression and oppression followed, eventually, by revolution - none of which are desirable.
Equality
In Experientialism, the idea is not to facilitate the same experience of life for all; the idea is to give all an equal chance to experience reality with maximum freedom. Natural diversity will lead to a constant variation or multiplicity in the lives we lead.
Sustainability
In Experientialism, all manifest forms of life are connected contiguously through both space and time. So, we of the present are the past, the present and the future. Those of the future, yet to be born, will be directly connected with us; we will be their past, and those still to be born will be their future. The past fashions the universe we inherit in the present.
Therefore, in order to improve the present, which is constantly changing, we need to increase the potential for autonomous experience through our present actions that create the past.
For most living things in this part of the known universe, matter - such as water, air/oxygen, food etc. - is essential to exist and both quantity and diversity of the different forms of matter define the limits of potential experience. Therefore, biodiversity and capacity should be maintained or increased for our own experiential benefit.
Consciousness
In Experientialism, understanding and awareness of reality are the most satisfying and desirable experiences of all. Transcendental consciousness is the key to alternate realities that may hold a future beyond the corporal realm; definitely holds the key to ending destructive and unsustainable conflict; holds the key to living lightly and efficiently, countering materialism, consumptionism, and productionism, through the prevention of illness and waste, and reducing the desire for material distraction.
Thus, Experientialism should be useful to those whom work towards human rights, animal rights, environmental rights, spiritualism - though, only those who base their philosophies on autonomy of experience without prejudice.
