About Me

I'm a published author, performance poet, writer, workshop facilitator, teacher and researcher, based in Bristol, England. I've performed at festivals, theatres, pubs, clubs and pavements around England, America and Japan and have worked with groups such as 'Paralalia', 'Ambush Artists' and 'Bristol Funicular'. I've published my own volume of poetry 'Verbatim' and have had poetry and short stories published in a number of magazines and compilations. I'm the Artistic Director for Bristol's longest running poetry and music open mic. night 'Acoustic Night' (www.acousticnight.co.uk).I quit my secretarial job to study a PhD with the Department of Sociology at the University of Exeter in October 2005. It still means I spend most of my time typing, but I get to conduct research into poetry slam communities and networks - oh and have lots of lie ins!

Go to my website to find out more about my work in the worlds of poetry and academia.
