About Me

Scottie Gaither's Story
..
Add to My ProfileMeet Scottie -- a "Can-Do" KidWhen doctors told Scottie's mom Barbara that her baby had severe autism, it was a heart-breaking time. Watch Scottie's video to see how Easter Seals has helped him become the bright, curious and determined 8-year-old "can-do" kid he is today.
Easter Seals is the leading non-profit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physicaldisabilities and other special needs. We believe:
Too often, people with disabilities are locked out, left out or overlooked. While the Americans with Disabilities Act addressesfundamental civil rights for people with disabilities, the basics of everyday life are still out of reach for too many Americanswith disabilities: getting a job, accessing health care, finding housing, using transportation, getting an education, and votingindependently.
Add your voice in our efforts to:
Employ people with disabilities and help build astronger economy with more contributing taxpayers, an increased consumer base, and an expanded, diverse workforce.
Ensure that people with disabilities get the healthcarethey need to lead full and more productive lives.
Create affordable housing options and accessibletransportation services to allow people with disabilities to live in and be more active in their communities.
Guarantee access to high quality educational services –including early intervention and preschool programs for children with disabilities – to invest in America’s future.
Make all polling places accessible so people withdisabilities can vote.
