HELPFUL TIPS FOR NETWORKING YOUR MUSIC, BAND, or BUSINESS

~ PRESENTING YOUR PAGE ~
Make sure it loads quickly for others to view. You could have a good thing that's get'n passed by because of to much traffic on your page making it hard to read or to long to load. Videos & a million pics on the front page can kill it for you. Don't let the thing your working so hard for get passed by.

~ TOP FRIENDS ~
include Band or Biz members. (If they can't reach you who can they reach???), top friend your major supports. Recording studios, Camera & Video people, record company if you have one, & those your networking with. This shows respect. A top list full of famous people is nice & there's a Place for them too in your influnces section.

~ LEAVING COMMENTS ~
Don't just flyer your peoples comments about shows, put a lil personal comment with it. It keeps your fans feeling special & not used. Take a few extra minutes to stop by some random friends pages & show Love. Work the Happy B-days. Watch what you say in peoples comments. Others pass by and read them.

~ LOOKING FOR VENUES & CLUBS TO PLAY AT ~
Check with other Music Artists, local papers, record stores, & entertainment in your town. For out of town gigs search for entertainment where you wanta go.

~ LODGING ~
If playing out of town. Check with the person your gonna be playing for about Band houses, suggested motels & travel books that offer coupons. Where ever you end up. Don't trash it! Your bands name is at stake.

~ KEEPING YOUR COOL ~
Cancelled shows,Someone trash talk'n your Music, Biz or Band, or the drunk one in the crowd distrubing your performace & fans. Don't lose your cool chaces are you'll get rebooked, violence can get you a bad rep. fast & there should be a bouncer near by for crowd control.

~ NETWORKING THE STREETS ~
Get together/work together! The more people you can get together to promote your Music ,Band, or Biz the futher out your information will be recived. No street team?? Make your Band the Street team, It's cheaper, & it's good to meet the people you want as fans & everyone wearing matching shirts from band or biz will promoting is a great touch.

~ CONDUCT ~
Be pleasent around the public & doing Business. Not only are you representing yourself but the Music, Band or Biz your with. News travels quickly. Make sure you can be found in the good part of it.

~ COMPETITION & ISSUES WITHIN YOUR BAND AND OR GROUP ~
Everybody has them, keep your personal opinions out of it. See the issue for what it is & resolve it. Your all working toward the same goal. There's no reason to ambush the person at fault. Sooner or later everyone will get there chance to fall short.

~ ABUSE ~
Yelling or cursing at a band member durning a show, putting down a member, free food & drink pushed out of control, running up bar tabs at the bands exspense,starting shows when you feel your ready & not at the time given, pushing all the bands work on one person. Don't make your bad day become everyone elses!

~ HELPING YOUR BAND OR BIZ ~
If you have a great idea or skill that can help your band out, let them know & use it. finding out the skills or connections of those in your band or biz could save you alot of money.

~ BEFORE SHOWS ~
Get there early so you have time to meet & say hi to your fans. This also gives you time to get ready for your performace & keeps your band , biz & the person that hired you from stressing out before a show.

~ DURING SHOWS ~
Be Vibrant, lively, excitied, move around, dance, step out into the crowd. Invite a fan or 2 on the stage, toss a signed t-Shirt or hat out in the crowd, the wilder or alive you are they will be too. Enjoy what your doing & have fun.

~ DRINKING WHILE PLAYING ~
If ya gotta have one beer before you play drink responsiably. Drinking heavy while your playing could cost you: your dream & your band fans, gigs, money, etc. You never know who's in the crowd. You've been hired to do a job. Save the heavy drink'n for another time.

~ PLAYING TOO LOUD ~
The louder the better? Not for eveybody. If doing a inside gig. Notice the size room your in, You can be so load that fans will turn away. Fans love to come up close to the stage "by the speekers". Others might like to come up closer but won't because of the volume. You don't want to turn your fans away. Protect your fans & yourself. Offer ear plugs for inside gigs. Also, make sure your insink & with the same tone as your band. It's easy for one to be so loud & it drownds out the singer or rest of the band. Protect your singers voice. Make sure everyone in your band can be heard.

~ OPEN BAR TABS ~
If your doing a gig for cash. Watch your Bands Bar tab. Unless your all in agreement on how much everyone in your band is allowed to spend for food & drink on the bands money. You can very quickly find you & your band is not gonna get paid the amount you started with. Personal Tabs are a great way to keep everyone in your group paid the amount their depending on.

~ CLOTHING ~
Get together with your group & come up with a few diffrent comfortable wardrobe ideas. Coordination looks great & it shows the people you got it together. Outragous can be a good thing.

~ AFTER SHOWS ~
Don't get famous for let'n your fans walk off after a show cause your to busy put'n your stuff away, chasen money down, act'n like your to good to speek or just talk'n to people you know. Stop'n to tell a few of your new fans thanks for coming out, makes them repeat fans!

~ ABOUT BUSINESS ~
Everyone in your band or biz should have cards or small flyers just about the business with the web sight on it & contact info. If you can't afford cards go with small flyers. It's cheaper & it looks good that you have something. People bump into people. Be Prepared.

~ DOING BUSINESS OF ANY KIND WITH OTHERS ~
Keep it real & professional. Be willing except other things than just cash. in the Music biz you may find out your not always gonna get the price you hope for. Find ways to make trades. Make sure your gigs are set in stone & your people know so there's no confusion. Do not sign any contract of any kind with out the agreement of your partner(s). Always consult with another 1st.

~ MOST IMPORTANT ~
Don't be shamed if you don't get it all everything right a few times & don't give up! It's better to have tried & tried till you get it right then to not try at all. You never know just how good you can be without practice. Be your dream, enjoy living your dream & don't forget about those living it with you.
