Dwight "Mystery Man a.k.a Rum Head" Parline was born on May 9, 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica. He lived with his mother in many of the sometimes harsh and unforgiving
communities of the capital city. His father died when he was a fetus in his mother's
womb, thus leaving her to care for a family of five.
"Mystery Man's" educational journey took him through Franklyn Town Primary, Vineyard Town
Comprehensive High and Haile Selassie Comprehensive Schools. He also attended
Heart Academy, where he studied mechanics and electrical engineering.
There is no mystery about "Mystery Man's" love for music. Having innercity
communities, such as Water House and Seaview Gardens that spawned the likes of Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man and Junior Reid, as his play ground; he could not avoid coming into contact with some of these leading artistes and their music.
Additionally, he was constantly bombarded by music blaring from the speakers of sound
system on just about every corner of the community, so when "Mystery Man" started singing at the age of six, it was no mystery.
He first started singing at church and soon became lead singer for the End Time
Pentecostal Choir, but it was at age thirteen "Mystery Man" began to take his singing seriously. He later joined a group called the Moonlight Brothers. He went
knocking on he doors of producers and did his first recording in 2000 at studio mix. The
song was entitled "More Love". He has since worked with various record producers including J. Deeble who produced the track "Life Ain't
Easy" on the J. Deeble Records label. He then
moved on to showcase his talent at many major talent show competitions. Chief among
them are Tasties Talent Search Competition, which he won in 2003, and the Guinness
Ultimate DJ competition in which he placed second. He has made appearances at private
parties put on by J. Ray & Nephew and JPS Co. He has also appeared at school fetes &
barbeques, and at nightclubs, such as Asylum and Moments. Since 2007 he has graced the stage of Rebel Salute, Bob Marley show, Spring Break and Sting
"Mystery Man" is also pursuing acting and stand-up comedy. He played the roll of “John†in the play "Hell A Pop A Yard". He has also performed at Priscilla's and Back Yard doing stand-up comedy.
He plans to take his music to the four comers of the globe, following in the footsteps of
the great icon, Bob Marley.
