Her seamless combination of jazz, pop, soca, and a touch of old school R&B, resonate with sensuality reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald. Born on July 10th, 1982 in the "Spice Island of the Caribbean", Nickieah is destined for success. As a child, she was inspired to sing and perform by her mother, a singer and guitar player and her father, a radio disc jockey. Throughout her youth, Nickieah sang and participated in numerous community activities, contributing to school productions where she "did it all," singing, hosting and acting. In 1997, a new door opened for Nickieah. While she was attending George Wingate High School in Brooklyn New York, her music teacher saw her willingness to pursue her goal as both a singer and songwriter and began introducing her to producers like Ed Robinson; he escorted her to studios such as Kingston Studio. Refusing to be "in the box," Nikki ventured into the realm of figurative writing. Her summer '98 performance with spoken word artists Shay Butter, and Nemesis the Gray Moon at the African American parade in Yonkers inspired further lyrical versatility. By July 2000, she began to perform in a number of shows with reggae artists such as Major Mackerel, Sister Charmaine, Terrorist, Telley and Warrior. The experience and exposure to a large reggae audience had a tremendous impact on Nikki. She was invited by a number of hip hop and dancehall artists such as Spice Youth, Premium, Kulcha Don, and Cardinal Official to contribute hooks, punch-lines and lyrics to their songs, and has since become a renowned "hooker". In the year 2005, Nickieah moved to south Florida where she met radio personnel Shara Kikki who helped spread the “buzz.†By the end of 2006, her new hit single “Welcome to the party†was born. With the help of Mr. Alrick Taylor the founder of “56real productions†and co-writer Floyd (double O) Crossman this single was released in January of 2008, on the “Spain town riddim†compilation album with artist like Vybes kartel, Bounty Killa, Sizzla and Bennie man. As 2008 progresses expect to hear great things from Nickieah Aragon. For bookings call:1-301-755-4014 Email me: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]]
