About Me

CHECK ME OUT IN THE HOUSTON PRESS!

Cindy Pruitt is an indie pop artist and musician based in Houston. She has been playing in Houston since 1997 and has been a founding member of the Houston bands Karma, Zbogum, The Vulvamatics and currently is a member of Fluff the Kat and Guilty Pleasure. When she is not performing with one of her projects or solo she stays busy as an engineer at her studio Smiley Face Records. Her solo shows are a little livelier than you’d expect at most “singer/songwriter” events. Incorporating a loop station and various effects pedals she creates a lush sound as a “one-woman” show. Her original song “Figure it Out” was featured as the opening song for the 2004 independent mockumentary “How to Pick up Girls, A Guide for the Dating Impaired” from Passionfruit Video in Austin. Figure it Out has also received radio play on KPFT in Houston and KVRX in Austin. She has released one CD “Songs from Inside the Bubble” and is currently recording tracks for the follow-up CD. She performed solo at the 2008 Houston Pride Festival.
