Gypsy Geoff’s Story:Born and raised in the little town of Poway California Geoff always had the dream to be somebody and not just anybody, at the age of 17 he became restless with his country hum bum home town so he packed his bags and bought a one-way ticket to Europe seeking adventure, danger, and romance. Nearly three months had passed by and nothing to adventurous or nearly romantic had happened other than being robbed numerous times, all hope was lost. Broke and stuck in Europe alone he did the only thing he knew how to do. With eight years of hacky sack under his belt he took to the streets competing with six other street performers on Grafton St in Ireland, old ladies wanted him to join the Irish team and young hooligans invited him to football practice, he soon raised enough money in three weeks to get back home.
Inspired by his European adventure he took to the streets of New Orleans to test his skills to become a great street performer. Hacky sack was only the start, Harry Anderson (of Night Court) saw him and said “Kid you got talent, but you need an act” Geoff learned magic, juggling, and improv comedy which gave him the tools he needed to start his career. Big Bang Circus came through town and took him under their wing. Teaching him how to build an act and how to adapt his show to any theme. When he got to San Francisco he was overwhelmed by the amount of talent and took to the streets. Juggling culinary school and clown school at the same time he somehow found the time to start working full time as a Vaudeville variety entertainer performing on the local cable cars.
Five years into his performing career he had planned his big adventure. After converting a diesel school bus to run on vegetable oil he took to the road for his first of three cross country tours, when he arrived in Milwaukee Wisconsin, he began to work with Milwaukee Public Theatre and start teaching inner city kids his gift of Circus arts. Reaching over 400 kids teaching juggling, tumbling, clowning, mime, nutrition, exercise, self-confidence, and teamwork, on his free time he would visit high schools and lecture on being an entrepreneur own what makes them feel free. Constant encouragement is applied letting kids know that they are not alone in the learning process and nothing is impossible. No child, no matter what age or skill level is left behind.
