"The Fucking Buckaroos prove to be one of the most original bands to come out of San Fran in quite some time. When Cops Rode Bulls combines folk rock with an obvious punk rock element. Thrown onto this disc are seven tracks that run relatively short in length, but it's the band's excellent instrumental quality and choice lyrics that more than make up for the record's brevity. Stand-out tracks include "Rosie" and "Crownless King" but the other tracks found here are just as interesting and memorable. The Fucking Buckaroos show a lot of promise."

"Yes, they play a banjo and a mandolin, but this isn't a novelty band. The Buckaroos played some blistering, loud and fast punk in the Pogues style, but you don't have to be a Pogues fan (I'm not) to enjoy their sound. You don't even have to like the banjo or the mandolin, because the instruments all blend together to create a really powerful impact. I could tell these guys take their music seriously, because they sounded tight and disciplined. Overall these guys were in a total musical frenzy, and then when they *really* amp up the power, they're astonishing. Great stuff. Gotta see them again."

Setting up at Johnny V's tonight is the crashing, speed-folk bluegrass twang of The Fucking Buckaroos from S.F, who kick it raw, honest and amped beyond belief, like they just swallowed an oversized jug of whiskey laced with meth. Their frenetic style of punk banjo picking is only tethered by the Buckaroos' extremely high quality musicianship and committment to rock.
