About Me

Hello!
I am a 22 year old crazy gal looking for all the fun that life can toss out!*Use scroll bars on the right ~>
I see myself as a very unique and genuinely happy person. I’m very trustworthy and hardworking. On top of all that, I’ve always been open to change and trying new things.
Just to get a better handle on who I am, below is a period-by-period biography about me.
Ok, so I graduated from high school (OOOooo La la!), moved onto college, got an associates degree (Cha-Ching!), and now I am aptly going broke and into debt with every semester I spend working for my Bachelor’s degree (*opens wallet in amazement of the colorful moths that flutter outward only to remind me that life ‘ain’t’ cheap!*) Ohhh wait… you wanted a more detailed explanation of my life thus far?! Ok, well I am apt student, always working hard, and actively involved in school activities. For three years, I performed on the Marching Band as a Color-Guard flag and rifle line girl for football games, parades, and amusement parks such as Cedar Point and Disney World. In June of 2004 I received my High school diploma (wow- that seems like ages ago) and immediately began schooling at my local community college in which I devoted extensive amounts of time into my education, right up until I skipped town to go work an internship for Mickey and his short skirt wearin’ gal, Minnie down in Sunny Orlando, FL. My motto: Education is the one thing that no one can take away, so get as far as you can and run like hell with that chalky piece of paper.
At Disney World I was given the responsibility of protecting the health and well-being of Disney guests on a daily basis as a deep water lifeguard at Disney's Blizzard Beach and on rain days I was given the chance to act a fool and juggle for the little children that loved to harass me. I made friends there from around the world that I will cherish and trust forever. While I was on this program I also was schooled and graduated from the Disney University and for the past few years, I’ve been a Disney Representative at Triton College, marketing this same opportunity to other students on campus.
As everyone knows, I’m a crazy fun loving gal who is up to anything new and interesting. So with that, one year, I was given the chance to venture back to the olden days dressed in my most expensive pirate garb and hence, I was introduced to the Bristol Renaissance Fair. I’ve become quite the Renaissance fair patron ever since and love to run wild with the fairies and share a broosky with the best pirates in town! I love the talent at the Ren-Fair so much that I even inquired about working there. Not long after asking around, I came into contact with a worker who changed my life. I was so interested in the arts and stunting of a group known as Barely Balanced , that my overzealous curiosity led me into my current high-flying career in which I enjoy today- the Circus!!!! Yes, I can see your face now… WHAT?! This girl is CRAZY!!! But while at the Ren. Fair I informed about a Circus program at the very same college I attended (and never knew about). With that, my life took a drastic but amazing change. That very same year, I became a yearly volunteer for the Triton Trouper Circus . I began learning how to do things that always inspired me, but had never even thought of trying. That April I performed center ring for my first time ever in a Circus. Now a yearly volunteer for the Triton Trouper Circus , I’ve performed acts on the Swinging Trapeze, Double Stunts, Man-Wheel/German Wheel, Tight Wire, Juggling, Equilibrism (aka-Statues), and Teeterboard. From then on out, every year that the Trouper's Circus comes back into season, I remain an active participate because it is where I began and where my heart first began to truly skip a beat!
While performing for the Triton Trouper Circus, I was recruited into another Circus Company known as Forms in Motion , to which I am still a part of today. In the summer of 2007 and 2008, I traveled the mid-west as a professionally paid Circus performer with Forms in Motion , doing acrobatics, poi juggling/fire spinning, adagio, and double stunts. In April 2008, our company produced an exciting new Pirate Circus Show in Upstate New York, known as, "Journey of the Arabella." I played the role of 'Constance,' where I continued my Circus stunting and also managed to maintain a certain composure after breath taking tricks to recite my lines in the show (not so easy…) Acting, memorizing lines, and performing acrobatics all in one show was quite a ‘breathtaking’ experience on my part, and although the show was a bit challenging for my first time ever in a play, I hope there are more to come! In July of 2008 I broke the first bone in my body when I did the "big" assisted back flip mid show, landed on a clump of mud, broke my foot and separated some bones. Even though the pain was instant I got back up on my feet, styled and smiled, and continued through the acrobatic stunting of that performance. After 4 weeks of quick healing (which should've been 6 weeks) in which I *shhhh* managed to climb the Michigan Sand Dunes, walking boot and all, I am surprisingly back on my feet and ready to get back into the routine of flipping and stickin.' I am networking extensively and learning amazing new things with this company. I have a strong feeling that I will go far with the knowledge I’m gaining with them.
I am now being schooled through Eastern Illinois University in the pursuit of the ground breaking BA in which I hope to finish up by the middle of 2009. Since this is an exciting and expensive step in my life, I am actively hunting for any and all scholarship/grant assistance that I am offered (anyone out there reading this getting the hint??? *wink wink… I DO have a 4.0 GPA and I’m very active student!!!!!*).
I look forward to a bright and successful future where I can raise hell, make a change, and make people laugh with all of these new creative skills in which I have acquired...

My Interests

Honestly, I'm interested in anything and EVERYTHING that is well… interesting!

Right now I'm really interested in completing my BA degree and seeing where it can take me.

Circus Juggling, Trapeze, Tight Wire, Aerials, Acrobatics, Stage Combat Performance Art Theatre/Drama/Acting Directing/Choreography MusicSports: Swimming Hiking Biking Camping Fishing

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who thinks that they can challenge me in a swimming contest- I’ll totally kick your…. well… if I can’t, PREPARE TO BE BOARDED!!!! There are quite a lot of people out there that I'd love to meet. If you’re a fun person, open to change, and you’ve snickered at anything you’ve read on my page- send me a message because I’d love to meet ya!

~Definitely any fellow Circus Freaks.
~Performers and Artists.
~I guess in my current situation I'd most definitely be interesting in meeting anyone who can provide information on college scholarships or grants!!! *Hint HINT- wink wink!*
~If you want to meet me, I’d love to meet you!

Music:

I love all types of music, but I tend to shy away from most Country styles and any sort of Death Metal scream-o music. If it has a beat or stirs up something within- without sounding like a car crash, I'm up for it.

For personal performances, I'm interested in any sort of theatrical, appropriate, non-graphic music that I can put either a fast or graceful routine to.

Movies:

I love movies!!!! Actually I’m currently watching Rocky Horror Picture show right now as I'm writing this!!! I'm always up for an entire day of relaxing and watching a movie with my family, friends, or my boyfriend Rob.

I usually prefer: Action, Adventure, Comedy, and Horrors. And I am not so much into the lovey-dove “Chick Flicks”.

*Movies I LOVE*
Interview with A Vampire
Queen of the Damned
Resident Evil I & II
The Entire Blade Trilogy
Boon Dock Saints
Clerks I & II
The Fifth Element
Silent Hill
Jackie Chan Movies
etc…

Television:

I really enjoy some of the reality shows out there (surreal life, road rules, real world), because the drama is just hilarious and I would probably enjoy being on them myself just for the experience of the trials and tribulations they all go through. Plus living in a mansion for free while fighting formoney would be sweet!
I also love CSI, Law and Order, South Park, Late Night Cartoon Network Shows (aka Anime, Robot Chicken, or anything on Adult Swim.
I love the HBO shows, like 'Def Poetry Jam', 'Sopranos', 'Dead Like Me', 'Oz', 'Carnivale.' My current turn on is the new Vampire series called “True Blood,” it’s about damn time they finally came out with a fang banger show!!! I also REALLY enjoy Sci Fi shows like 'Earth II', 'FarScape', 'Threshold', 'Surface', and 'Sliders.' I even enjoyed 'The Lex' on the Sci Fi channel, but since I lost that channel in my room due to Comcast’s shady switcheroo into needing a cable box at monthly rates I no longer can delve into my shows… I know isn’t that sad?!
I guess I will just have to use my own imagination now…. (Just than a giant green colored flying squirrel busts through the screened window and steals my cheese sandwich… ARGG!)
I LOVE Cartoons, they bring me back to my childhood- and now make me laugh since I’m now all grow’d up and can understand the underlying adult jokes within.
Animal Planet is usually where I find myself after all the channel surfing through. What can I say, Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter was my all time hero-RIP, and I've been entertained by Jeff Corwin ever since he was on Disney Channel. I also am amazed with what happens on Animal Vets/ASPCA Rescues. People can be so heartless!

Books:

I'm really not huge into leisure reading- only because reading gives me headaches, and I may as well have ADD. I feel as if I am wasting time when I read, so I multi-task. I love listening to Books on tape because I can do other things at the same time. But when I do read, I read stuff like:
Anne Rice- Vampire Chronicles, and the Sleeping Beauty Series.
I absolutely love the book “The Turning” by Jennifer Armintrout and am in process of reading the next 2 in the series.
I’ve also read all the David Pelzer novels and anything I was once forced to endure in school.
I’m really into Poetry and Shakespearean Plays. “Wherefore art thou Romeo?!”
However, even though I’m not largely into reading- I LOVE to spend hours at the Borders bookstore just looking at everything. There’s just something so serene and amusing about being there that makes me really happy. It's kind of like fishing.... even if I don't catch anything- I'm content, and will plop my butt down anywhere in an isle with something interesting. PS- I have been tripped over. (^_^)

Heroes:

*My main heroes are my parents for pushing me to where I am today and for staying strong through my moments where I just need to harass them to pass the time. Ohh… they LOVE it!!! It’s a constant- who’s gonna get who next, everyday.
*Steve Irwin was also a huge hero in my life. He first came into my eye on TV when I was very young and I admired his every move. He had such a big heart for animals and people alike. He was doing something that I once had as a childhood dream, keeping animals safe and letting the world know that they aren’t all that bad, as long as you understand them. He had so much courage and Love and I admire him so much for it. His passing was a great loss to not only his family, but to the animals he adored, and the entire world in which he, as one man, began to make a change.
*Also I would like to make a special note for the guys from Barely Balanced . They are an acrobatic, fire spitting, crazy, adventurous crew of entertainment enthusiasts that inspired me into my passion with the Circus.
Thank you Caleb, Cameron, and Brandon!
Even though I don't know them as well as I’d like to, they do everything I’ve always dreamt of doing; travel, entertain, meet new people, and temporarily taking away the burdens of other's lives. They are the epitome of talent and true heart!
