This sin-tillating Scandinavian smorgasbord and peeler was born in Stockholm, and raised a broad.
The Swedish Housewife – and her alter ego, Ginger! – have been performing in burlesque and cabaret for over 21 years and are known for their gorgeous costumes, neoclassical -style, sight gags, humor, and over-the-top props… they even sing! In key!. Many pseudonyms have been affiliated the luscious body and, um, active imagination that houses them, but these two incarnations are the surely the core of the beast.She teases and pleases as a feature dancer at shows in NYC, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville, Las Vegas, London and Stockholm. She was included in The New York Burlesque Festival and Miss Exotic World 04, 05, and 06.She cut her teeth in the NYC 80’s underground working with John Sex as one of his burly girls –The Bodacious Ta-Ta’s– portrayed Illusia in "Mermaids On Heroine" Joey Arias’s epic rock soap opera, they played every major club in NYC of the 80’s and the auspicious "Asia House Society" and one wild show in Boston. She also toured with him as a back up singer to Japan, and sang in his bands "Strange Party" and "Fin"
She did the whole 80’s East Village performance art scene thing, where she was a regular player at The Pyramid Club -often as Cindy and Trish- in its Hay Day and was the first girl-as-boy-as-girl go-go dancer at that venue. While working there she had the pleasure to collaborate with the likes of, Tanya Ransom (whom she married), John Kelly, Ethyl Eichelberger, Larry Ray, Brian Butterick aka Hattie Hathaway, Agosto Machado, Wendy Wild, Ann Craig, Tabboo!, Happy Phace, Tom Rubnitz, Eddie The Egg Lady, Ann Magnuson, Bobby Bradley, the soon to be called Sister Dimension, Ru Paul, Lady Bunny, Bunny Manhattan, Lydia Lunch, you name it they were there... even that old vampire Andy Warhol.
She has produced so many shows over the years there is not room to name them all but the highlights are Producing The Miss Exotic World Contest in Las Vegas 06 and 07, The Exotic World Meet and Greet 05, 06, and 07 including performances by Tempest Storm, Tura Satana, Kitten Natavidad, Bambi SR, Marinka, Kiva Queen Of Fans, Joan Arline, Ricci Cortez, and Liz Renay.... just to drop a few old school names, Burlesque Behind The Pink Door 12/05 - 2/08, Co founding Orchestra L’Pow! Seattle’s FIRST LIVE Burlesque band, This “IS†Burlesque 1 thru 9 an all out revue with up to 25 acts per show, bringing Joey Arias, John Kelly and John Sex to Seattle before anyone in Seattle knew who they were!!!!
Created the first Acid House Night in Seattle in the late 80s at the Vogue then on 1st Avenue. In the last 5 years she has brought to Seattle the Hottest International Burlesque Talent to Seattle including Miss Dirty Martini, Erochica Bamboo, Julie Atlas Muz, and Kitten De Ville all Exotic World titleholders.
The Swedish Housewife has held numerous fundraisers for Exotic World, generating much-needed funding- and encourages you to do the same- as well as a benefit for the Artistic Victims of Katrina, and many other note worthy causes.
