Pirate Cat Radio has been operating in the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 years. The eclectic station stays on the air using Title 47 Section 73.3542 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, established during the war on terror and granting authorization to broadcast without a license while the U.S. is engaged in war. News, community information and various types of music is broadcast by the stations 26+ on-air personalities. The station is now the only radio station in the United States to broadcast the English Al Jazeera channel.
Pirate Cat Radio can be heard at 87.9FM in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
