The Corruptors

About Me

The Corruptors
Dope-Guns-'N-F**king in the Streets were the titles for a series of compilations released by Amphetamine Reptile Records out of Minneapolis in the late '80s, early '90s. Over the years they've included Bay Area bands on their roster and comps including the Melvins and The Dwarves.
For the most part the record label spearheaded the heavy rock in punk rock sound with Unsane, Helmet and bands of that sort.
On listening to The Corruptors, they'd fit perfectly in the Dope-Guns-'N-F**king in the Streets era of AmRep. It sounds like punk rock abandon, but talented as hell. Tight with their changes and a singer that holds a key, yet belts it out from the guts.
Labeled as punk, this is what rock should sound like. Labels, oh dear labels, they redefine with time and music writers love to throw them around....like we really know. We don't know.
Bands like The Corruptors either rock or don't rock. The Corruptors rock. And if you remember when Helmet used to roll through San Francisco and play small venues and you're itching for that same vibe...except a manlier sounding lead singer...take a dose of The Corruptors live and call me in the morning.
Make that late afternoon, they're a drinking band.
