Latest Review: "AMG - All Music Guide" : CD Review "Volodja Balzalorsky Live in Concert Vol. 3: (Live in Maribor)"
by James Leonard
...Balzalorsky is an intelligent artist with sweet tone and a smooth technique. Balzalorsky's Dvorák Sonatina is delightful and soulful, his Debussy Sonata is light and ethereal, his Paganini Cantabile is ripe and tender, and his Srebotnjak Sonata No. 1 is powerful and persuasive.
Balzalorsky's performances are easily in the same league as many of the better international performances of the past 20 years and well worth hearing...

"New York Concert Review" by Edith Eisler
Amael Piano Trio is a veryfine group. The stringplayer’s intonation in impeccable, their tone is rich, beautiful and homogeneous and can vary from floating delicacy to vibrant full bodied sonorousness….A large multi-national audience rewarded the performers with warm approval and prolonged ovations.

Influences: In the beginning, my way to become classical violinist was not conventional. When I was 13, I was listening the bands like:
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix, Ten Years After, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Santana, Frank Zappa, later also U2, Sting, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Quinci Jones, Bob Dylan,

and than more and more also jazz:

In 1969 I got the LP by The Flock with the violinist Jerry Goodman. I was so impressed with the band and this way of violin playing, that I began to practice violin more. So I came slow and slow to decision, being professional musician. The classical music became more and more important for me - from baroque to contemporary!

Influences of classical music performers and conductors:
Oistrakh, Heifetz, Stern, Menuhin, Kreisler, Elman, Kogan, Kremer, Perlman, Suk, Zuckerman, Rabin, Horowitz, Callas, Django Reinhardt, Domingo, Pavarotti, Carerras, Rostropovich, Toscanini, Karajan, Maazel, Emil Gilels, Pollini, Amadeus Quartet, Jo Jo Ma, Melos Quartet, Lazar Berman, Borodin Quartet, Alman Berg Quartet, Beaux Art Trio, Suk Trio, Brendel, Renee Fleming and in the last period also younger performers like Maxim Vengerov, Anne Sophie Mutter, Hilary Hahn, Lang Lang, Trio Wanderer.

Composers: Mozart , JS Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Wagner, Brahms, Charles Ives,, Sibelius, Stravinsky, Copland, Mahler, , Stockhausen, Schoenberg, Glass, John Adams, Alban Berg, John Cage, Leos Janacek, George Crumb, Philip Glass, Michael Gordon, Henryk Gorecki, Sofia Gubaidulina, Arvo Part, Astor Piazzolla, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Alfred Schnittke, Dmitri Shostakovich, John Zorn, Uros Rojko, Vinko Globokar, Janez Maticic, Ennio, Morricone, John Williams, Bill Conti.

Other influences: Goethe, Preseren, Picasso, Kandinsky, Da Vinci, Thomas Mann, Dostoevsky, Chehov, Shakespeare, DeNiro, Pacino, Brando, Laurence Olivier, Hopkins, Kubrik, Leone, Kusturica

Sounds Like: To find my own expression in sound, it was for me always very important to listen to other great performers like
Oistrakh, Heifetz, Stern, Menuhin, Kreisler, Elman, Kogan, Kremer, Perlman, Suk, Zuckerman, Rabin, Horowitz, Callas, Django Reinhardt, Domingo, Pavarotti, Carerras, Rostropovich, Toscanini, Karajan, Maazel, Emil Gilels, Pollini, Amadeus Quartet, Jo Jo Ma, Melos Quartet, Lazar Berman, Borodin Quartet, Alman Berg Quartet, Beaux Art Trio, Suk Trio, Brendel, Renee Fleming and in the last period also younger performers like Maxim Vengerov, Anne Sophie Mutter, Hilary Hahn, Lang Lang, Trio Wanderer.

It was also very importat to listen to the music written by composers of all epochs like Mozart , JS Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Wagner, Brahms, Charles Ives, Sibelius, Stravinsky, Copland, Mahler, , Stockhausen, Schoenberg, Glass, John Adams, Alban Berg, John Cage, Leos Janacek, George Crumb, Philip Glass, Michael Gordon, Henryk Gorecki, Sofia Gubaidulina, Arvo Part, Astor Piazzolla, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Alfred Schnittke, Dmitri Shostakovich, John Zorn, Uros Rojko, Vinko Globokar, Janez Maticic, Ennio, Morricone, John Williams, Bill Conti,
listen to the bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix, Ten Years After, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Santana, Frank Zappa, later also U2, Sting, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Quinci Jones, Bob Dylan,

and also listen to jazz like
