Scooby is one of the leading associations dealing with the rescue of Galgo dogs in Spain, located in Campo Medina, 160 km n|w over Madrid. http://www.scoobymedina.com/ ____ADOPT A GALGO! ___Galgos are Rabbithunters. They are exiting smooth, "a mixture of a Dog, a Cat and a Rabbit."___ We transport our 'Babes' with Transporters to any Country, after having a look into their hopefully good new Home.___ .It all started in 1997 with a few rescued dogs. What began in an old warehouse without electricity, heat or water, has moved into a new refuge facility with the help of international supporters dedicated to Scooby and it's important work. My Interests

SPAINS HANGING HORROR new investigation by WSPA has exposed the way in which thousands of Spanish greyhounds (known as galgos), are hanged following the end of the hare coursing season. WSPA is calling on this EU member state to finally adopt a national animal welfare law that would outlaw such cruelty.The results of the investigation, carried out in the Castilla y Leon and Castilla la Mancha regions of Spain in March this year with the assistance of Spanish organisation Scooby (Sociedad Protectora de Animales Scooby), reveal widespread evidence that the age-old tradition of hanging dogs in Spain continues to this day. WSPA estimates that tens of thousands of galgos are being bred and killed annually in rural areas.

The 200 Galgos we found in Sevilla are in a horrible Mood. Further more we still have 100 Greyhound-Ladies from the Barecola-Kennel peu a peu free for adoption.The Scooby Animal Shelter currently accommodates round about 600 dogs, 420 of which are Galgo dogs, and 42 cats approx. Consequently, we are unable to busy ourselves with the planned campaign at present because we simply have too many dogs that need to be taken care of. Very few times we have less than 300 Galgo dogs and in order to cope with all the expenses we need your help!You can help us in the Shelter too!
