SummerSongs at Zaca Lake was a blast!

About Me

Well, I really don't know what to say about myself. I love my Son. I love God. I love God's Son, His love makes me soar....... but I do not fly with my right wing all out of shape.............I have been a big music fan all my life. I was one of those young girls who got caught up in Beatle Mania, complete with screaming and crying and plastering posters all over my room. I even started a little group of my own called the Ladybugs. We played tennis racket "guitars" and sang Beatle songs every recess and even for the school talent show. My mom drew some cute little ladybugs on sweatshirts for us to wear and we really thought we were something. With those shirts on we could sing all the way to the stars..........................Now a days, I try to play a funky instrument called a Mountain Dulcimer. I like to noodle out little tunes and have turned a few into songs. I find that it is pretty easy to come up with a tune but I struggle with finding the right lyrics to go with them. I spent a wonderful week last summer at the SummerSongs songwriters camp up in Santa Barbara and had the time of my life. If you are a budding songwriter, or if you just want to camp like one ............... check out.......... www.summersongs.com .....or click on my SummerSongs West friend and take a look for your self.Well I must admit that I haven't written very many songs and I'm not ready to play what I've written in front of a big crowd....at least not yet. But most of the folks who go to camp are THE REAL DEAL ....and they are really really nice people........ and so accepting of a beginner like me. The instructors are very talented. If you check out my favorite friends you can learn more about Wendy, Kenny, Sev and Caroline, and Rebecca Troon. Please click on most any of my friends and you will hear some great songs.......I hope you will enjoy their music as much as I do. Make a Joyful Noise....it really helps make the world a better place.Taratune

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Joni Mitchell, I have always loved her music and her paintings. I was able to go see her perform once in San Diego and ......almost once in Santa Barbara. I fell from a wall at the amphitheater just before the show and broke my leg. The paramedics came to take me away a little before she came on. I did get back just in time to catch the last 2 songs from the sidelines. Lucky for me I can watch the concert I missed on my copy of her Shadows and Light DVD so I guess it has worked out. I also love her art but have never been able to view it in person. I am sure that the brush strokes and colors would be even more fabulous up close and personal. Does anyone know where any of Joni's art is on display?

Music:

I love music....and songwriting is the best therapy I've ever had. If you are interested in unleashing the muse inside you..... come to a SummerSongs songwriting camp. You will have a great time......and you may get to meet a few of the folks singing in the video above......or even a few of "my friends" so be sure to check them out. Of course.......to really find out about SummerSongs......just visit www. Sumersongs.com and when you do.......say Hi to Penny Nichols for me.....she is a great singer/songwriter and the visionary behind SummerSongs.

Movies:

I love a good movie.....especially if it has great music. Have you ever seen a movie without music or where the music doesn't fit the mood...If the music isn't right then the movie is all wrong.

Television:

If you like music and would like to learn more about songwriting,.. Check out www.summersongs.com

Heroes:

adopt your own virtual pet! A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. ~~Aristotle

What would Jesus Do?
