Caroline heard the Indigo Girls in 1980 in an alley behind Good Old Days in Atlanta practicing a CSNY song. When she put a third part harmony on it - they became friends. CA invited them on to her stage when they were 16-17 years old and sang on the Indigo Girls first recording (song-FINLANDIA) and toured with them nationally in 1992 1994 and 1997. Listen to "Haul off and Kiss Me" from the Mendicino Music Festival

"Day by Day" also from Mendicino. ..
Influences: Emma Lee Ramsey - member of the GA Sea Island Singers, who raised me, and who loved me when no one was looking. Thank goodness for Alan Lomax, who came through the Southern coast, and recorded her in the 1960's, and bringing her salt-of-the-earth voice to the fore, and saving it for generations to come.Bonnie Raitt, for her good works for so many worthwhile causes, for being a kind and thoughtful friend, and of course, for the great music she creates. My mom, who I stood next to in choir, and tried to mimmick her incredibly clear and right-on high soprano during the Hallelujah Chorus... and her slow, sultry "the Look Of Love", and "The Lady Is A Tramp" and "My Funny Valentine", "Pussy Willow, Cattails"...she could croon, she could belt, she could sing. Miss her dry wit and discerning advice. My older brother Harry, for teaching me the first chords on the guitar, and for writing great songs for many years. The Indigo Girls, for teaching me consistancy in performance, and strength of conviction. My inspiration is the muse, and I am drawn to people who hear the muse, and who invite it in for a spell. life. reality. honesty. the beach. the mountains. the road.
Sounds Like: the penniless bloke who wins the lottery; the hitchiker who gets a ride; The muse who comes to visit and decides to rent a room, build a house, plant a garden. ...sounds like home. Come on in, sit a spell, take your shoes off, y'all come back now, ya'hear? You want some sweet tea? How's yer mama'n'em?Listen to "There for Me Guitar" at the 20th Anniversary of the Mendicino Music Festival.
