Angela Hammontree

I am a singer-songwriter born and raised in the gray overhang of the Pacific Northwest. I write about things that piss me off, make me sad, make me laugh, or occasionally, things that make me happy.
Each day, I attempt to move closer to fearlessness.
Creative writing, singing, and musicianship have all been a part of my life from an early age, though I did them all separately for a long time before allowing myself the courage to attempt songwriting. When I did it for the first time, I felt ecstasy.
I am always alone. I am never lonely.
Since starting my recording and performing journey about four years ago, I have had the privilege of working with many fine musicians and friends, and the adventure of working with a few stinkers. My current cohorts include drummer Frank Fox, a soft-spoken man with a monstrous talent worn so discreetly, it still surprises me each time I hear it; Rudy Stranowski, the youngest of a long line of bassists who plays with the thoughtfulness of a player twice his age; and newest addition guitarist Randy Shemwell, whose talent and experience we are thankful to have found.
I don't often get far from home, but each mile I travel feels like a thousand.
I have played a number of venues and festivals in the Seattle area and have recorded three demo EPs to date. I am excited to be writing currently for my first full-length album, with which I fully intend to blow my own mind, if not yours.
I drink my blood from a jagged edge.
