About Me

Every Friday night in NYC, two ladies host a comedy show with hilarious guests you may never have heard of, but you should have... We like variety - sassy women, fabulous gay men, even straight guys - the one thing they have in common: funny. Drinkatwork.com says this: "I've only seen this show once, but the ladies who run it are very funny and the cabaret space is beautiful...A show run by women that's not a "chick show" is a rare, precious thing. This should be an institution."

FAQ: How Can I Get Booked on Sweet Paprika?

At Sweet Paprika, we get emails every day asking for spots on the show. Below are a few misconceptions about how to get booked:

1. Say someone we know recommended you when they really didn't. This is not a good idea because we will check with the person and find out. And then we will never book you.

2. Tell us you have great credits or you have a set on myspace that we can look at. Premium Blend? Just take a look at who's at the bar. Live at Gotham? Just take a look at who's warming up on the show. Comedy Central Half Hour? Call us, we want to book you!!
No matter what our good intentions are, we really won't take the time to look at your set on line.

3. Never come check out the show.
Hey, it couldn't hurt…face with the name and all that…showing support, etc.

4. Sleep with Allison.
Seems like a great idea at first, and then always, always ends badly. PS Ophira's engaged. Sorry!/p?
What we're trying to say is we have a wait list every month that could probably book three months worth of shows, and that's not taking into account our regulars. We also book at least a month in advance. We've also known most of the comics we book for many years, and we like to see people before we put them up. So stop by, say hello…and be patient. We have no doubt that you are totally talented and deserve to be on many a show. And dreams do come true!
