About Me
Tunghook, based in the Mid-Missouri area, began in Jan. 1997.
Tunghook's music is very diverse, but generally categorized as Metal.
From 1997-2002, the band played many shows locally & regionally,
& developed a very strong & loyal following in the mid-west. During this
time Tunghook released three CD's, the debut from 1999, MECHANIZED,
2000's SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN, & the 2001 live release,
ENTER STAGE RIGHT. Tunghook also opened for some great national
acts during this period, including King's X, Galactic Cowboys, Angel Corpse, & Pissing Razors. 2003-2005 found the band taking a break from doing live performances, but they did, however release two more CD's, SHADOWS OF THE PAST, in 2003, & their heaviest album, 2005's PSYCLONE. In 2006, the band resumed playing live performances in promotion of PSYCLONE, and were sounding better than ever! The beginning of 2007 marked the 10 year anniversary/birthday/whatever/etc. of the band. Tunghook continued playing live shows in 2007 before taking a break in the summer, then doing a few more shows near the end of the year. As a result of Tunghook being a band 10 years, two limited edition CD's were released, 10 YEARS OF TUNGHOOK and LIVELASHING, the later featuring the band recorded live in 2006-2007. 2008 begins with plans to finally record a new CD...predicted to be the heaviest and darkest of the band's 11 year career! Drummer T.J. Hendren was recently quoted as saying, "You'll be happy to know that Tunghook is preparing to create yet another explosive album to rip your face off." Look for the new album later this year.
