Samuli Federley

I was born in 1981 in Helsinki, Finland. My musical career began in age of 8 in a form of banging drums or whatever I got in my hands. On the melodical side, I had a crappy keyboard that used to play also. Actually, I still play keyboards, piano and drums to this very day.In age of about ten, I and couple of my friends formed a band called SMETH and at first I was the drummer of the band. I think we all tried every instrument (bass, drums, keys and guitar) and finally I ended up being the guitarist of the group. Soon after I realized that maybe I should practice playing a little bit so it would sound even cooler than just blasting with full volume open strings.So I started practicing actually quite intensively with my dad's acoustic and soon I read music quite well and my first gig was in age of eleven, when we performed f.ex. House of the Rising Sun to about 500 people!!!In age of twelve I started to take private guitar lessons and soon after that I switched to a local classical music school where I took lessons for about two years. Then I managed to enter the legendary pop/jazz conservatory in Helsinki and finally in 2001 I attended the Stadia, Helsinki polytechic to began the studies to be a guitar teacher.Nowadays along Reversion I teach in a largest music school in Finland called Tauko and my spare time is consumed by training merciless shredding and composing new material to Reversion.
