Who the hell is Sharkboy John?
I First picked up the guitar when I was 14 years old. As a teen in the late 80s I was an extreme metal head. I lived for Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC, and Judas Priest.
As my guitar playing progressed I dove head first into the NeoClassical guitar movement lead by Yngwie J Malmsteen, and Paul Gilbert and the rest of the Shrapnel Records crew. I spent most of my high school years locked in a room with a metronome practicing my ass off.
I started college as a music major studying classical guitar. I soon diversified my guitar repertoire by studying Jazz, funk, and eastern music. I was heavily influenced by John Mclaughlin and his Shakti and Mahivishnu Orchestra.
I combined the shed, classical, and progressive jazz influences to create my first band, Purgatory. Purgatory never quite made it out of the basement but created a foundation for my next band [Hermafro?].
Hermafro added Tony (of Swampazz) on Guitar and Vocals, and Eric Mafea on Bass to the Purgatory line up of my self and Danny Almoduvar. Hermafro took the Progressive Jazz / Metal sound to the next level adding electronic textures to bludgeoning heavy guitar riffs and grit filled vocals.
These days I work a regular day job, have a hair cut and act like a yuppie cock sucker must of the time but I still play guitar and write music. I will be posting my latest and greatest here on my space from time to time. I hope some one will like it.
Why do they call you Sharkboy?
The nick-name Sharkboy comes from my ass hole fiends making fun of the stupid faces I would make when I play guitar. They called the face the shark face. From the shark face came sharkboy.
What the hell is with those fucked up animations you keep posting as comments to my profile?

About the songs
A Prayer for Maria
This is a very personal song from me to my one year old daughter Maria. When my wife was three months pregnant, they found a mass in the baby's brain during a routine ultrasound. The mass turned out to be a massive hemorrhage that caused devastating damage to her brain. After Maria was born it was discovered that she was blind and that she suffered from seizures.I wrote this song on the night before her first eye surgery when she was three months old. It signifies the hurt I felt in my heart to have to see her suffer in such a way and the fear of uncertainty of the future and what it holds for her. It is my prayer to God for the strength to be the man I need to be in order to be a proper father to Maria. I recorded it with help from people from around the planet on myonlineband.com, a music collaboration web site.
Vengeance
This song was recorded with the help of Paul Robinson, who is one of the world's top session drummers. He has played with Paul McCartney, Jan Hammer, The Art Of Noise, The Buggles, Rod Stewart, The Pet Shop Boys, Nina Simone, Van Morrison & many more.
More info about Paul can be found at his MyOnlineBand.com profile:

Seeker, a session player from Germany helped out on bass. More info about Seeker can be found here:

A New Begininig
This is a song dedicated to my wife. It is about how meeting her helped change me from a negitive evil person to the positivly evil person I am today.
Angry Funk From Hell
This song was recorded in a basement in Verona, NJ with a five dollar tape recorder placed in the middle of the room. This was from a band that we called Purgatory. I played guitar, Danny Almoduovar played drums, and Dan Fabbricidory (no clue how to spell it) played bass.
It starts off with pointless shredding, then everyone jumps in followed by a slap bass funk jam.
Jagged Remorse
This song features Eric M on bass. I hate the opening guitar riff but the rest of the song is pretty cool. In the guitar solo, I try to rip off as many of Tony from Swampa-zz's licks as possible just to piss him off.
