About Me

"Wit Poetry my mind I flex, Flip like Wilson, Vocals never lackin dat finesse." Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine released WAKE UP on their first album and by 1994, Craig Wilson had discovered it along with Jim Morrison of The Doors, Bob Marley, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Ian Curtis, Roger Waters as well as many other great lyricists and poets. It was as if the gauntlet had been laid down and the challenge was set. Craig Wilson heared the call and as always, he was up for it! Craig was up for the fight... For 8 years Craig wrote in virtual silence, learning his trade away from the spot light. Only those closest to him were aware that Craig was writing. By 1997 he was writing good, intellegent poetry that began to flow. By 1999 he was getting so creative and confident that some even tried to stop him! Craigs personal life is at best described as chaotic and at worst, damn right dangerous but nothing could ever stop Craig from following the path that he had chosen and the path that had now been laid before him. It was his destiny to write the best, most contemporary, creative, brutal, flamboyant, free, daring poetry ever to come out of the UK.http://www. msplinks. com/MDFodHRwOi8vcHJvZmlsZS5teXNwYWNlLmNvbS9pbmRleC5jZm0/ZnVz ZWFjdGlvbj11c2VyLnZpZXdwcm9maWxlJmZyaWVuZGlkPTE5NzMzNDkzOQ== "By 2001 he was ready to step out of the shadows. By 2002 he began performing live and by 2003 he started to really kick some ass! By 2004 he had no choice but to work under The Freedom of Speech and by 2005 he was recording 24 awesome vocal tracks whilst fighting a war from the streets. By 2006 he became totally unstoppable with some great live performances backed up by quality material and by 2007 he was writing the best words he has ever written whilst fighting his greatest fight. By 2008, his first full studio album is about to be ready to make that crucial breakthrough, mixing Craigs excellent style of performance poetry with music that is tailor made to suit the vast array of subject matters covered. Craig Wilson knows what he is talking about and has back up in some very high places. Supported by The Princes Trust since 2005 and the BBC since 2006, years worth of work is now being pulled together to enable Craig Wilson and High Performance Poetry to enter the publics conciousness and finally NAIL IT! Jim Morrison would be well impressed with what he and Zack started way back in 1994. It took a while but when you do something, do it properly! Power to the People. Power to the Poets. I should have completed my first full album years ago but my fieldwork took much more time and effort than could be imagined. The true heroes tho are those who are on the street fighting for survival and to all those in the UK who are fighting on to get on with their lives. We live in violent times but the good times will roll again.
