Bristol Uncovered on BBC Radio Bristol @ Glasto!

cacophonous ear torture for the discerning listener

About Me

************************************************************ ** WE CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! - If you've got music you want us to hear then please send a CD or mp3 to the address below - don't ask us to visit your profile to hear it 'cause the chances are we wont. There's too much demand and we do this show part time & unwaged. Thanks.
************************************************************ **
We're Richard Pitt & Gary Smith presenters of Bristol Uncovered, an alternative music show with a focus on local bands & gigs. We play bands from all over the globe not just Bristol.
It's on BBC Radio Bristol every Saturday & Sunday morning 1am-3am. Hear us on the BBC i-Player live or anytime a week after broadcast via "Listen Again" at www.bbc.co.uk/bristol - follow the entertainment & local music links, or use this link www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/articles/2007/04/27/localmusic _feature.shtml and click on "Listen Again".
Please send your new material to:
RICHARD PITT & GARY SMITH,
BRISTOL UNCOVERED,
BBC RADIO BRISTOL,
PO BOX 194,
BRISTOL, BS99 7QT.

We can't air every CD we're sent or return them, but we'll play it on the show if we like it. So many bands, so little time, so don’t rely on us downloading your track. Remember - if we haven't got it, we can't play it! Self promotion is not a crime! We also accept mp3s via email: [email protected].
We DO NOT play funk, soul, RnB, jazz, or tribute bands. And if your idea of good music is X Factor, then you have our pity but not our air time. Have a listen to the show, you'll get the idea.
************************************************************ **
Bristol Uncovered is one of the most listened to programmes on BBC Radio Bristol's online "Listen Again" feature. There's a link to the BBC i-Player further up this page. Thanks for listening!
We're available for gigs. We're inexpensive DJs who play mostly new & classic alternative, indie, rock & alt-country.
In addition to our BBC radio show, we can provide your radio station with an alternative music show too. Let's do lunch!

If you want to get a gig in Bristol try our top friends below, most of them are venues or promoters.

Music:

Entertaining, original, experimental, inventive, complicated, simple, primitive, basic, discordant, melodic, haunting, quiet, loud, political or with a social conscience, funny, or just something we can dance to.

Books:

Homers "The Odyssey" “…it is a lovely thing to hear a bard such as this, with a voice like the voice of the gods. I myself feel that there is nothing more delightful than when the festive mood reigns in the hearts of all the people and the banqueters listen to a minstrel from their seats in the hall, while the tables before them are laden with bread and meat, and a steward carries round the wine he has drawn from the bowl and fills their cups. This, to my way of thinking, is perfection.” from book 9, The Cyclops.

Heroes:

John Peel - 'nuf said.
Jeff - No one rocks harder than Jeff!
BBC Radio Bristol - for letting us pollute the airwaves and being so supportive about it.
Pam & Elaine - for all the love & support.
