Forget the mind shield and feel the music

About Me

Over the years we have had various gigs and indulged in jam sessions with a list of musicians too long to remember and with so many different inputs and musical experiences to draw upon we felt it was important to distinguish our style and sound from other forms of new music available. It was with this intent the concept behind Celestial Souls was formed. Our aim was to create a new form of music which wouldn't slot straight into the established genres you'll find in most music shops. During this period we both became fans of electro/house music and when these influences started to combine with our earlier guitar based spacy, psychedellic sound some interesting collaborations were born.We now offer a collection of unique sounding laid back ambient tracks, predominantly beat driven and complimented by guitars and synthesizers. Our distinctive sound is created with live guitar and synthesizer riffs/drones laid over sequenced drum loops. Inspired by music's power to both drive and create desired moods and emotions, most tracks are hypnotic soundscapes which could form accompaniments to tv or film as well as offering easy listening in their current form.Celestial Souls: Arcadia

Influences: Our current project focuses on ambient, beat driven instrumental tracks and incorporates a wide array of influences including the likes of Air, Death in Vegas, Pink Floyd, Kasabian, St Germain, Jeff Mills, Nightmares on Wax, Kraftwerk, Craig Armstrong, Zero 7, Goldfrapp, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis to name a few.
Sounds Like: Our main aim is to offer something a bit different from what's already out there and people who enjoy anything from psychedellic guitar riffs to ambient soundscapes should find our sound interesting if nothing else.. I've thrown some sequenced drum beats in there to help drive the mood and tried to capture some improvised ideas to help retain that original euphoric feeling i sometimes get when a jam reaches the point of perfection in its first take!Music and feelings are two things that i've found inseparable for a number of years now and both seem to dominate my life from every angle be it through thought or through the actual act of creating new music. I hope to convey this dichotomy in our sounds and to somehow influence reflective memories and emotions in the listener in a positive way. Through this i hope it can bring destraction to the monotony that so often creeps into most of our everyday lives...Peace and prosperity
