The Relay Rips

About Me

When Steve agreed to back Mike at one of his solo shows, he didn’t expect to pick up £120 in parking fines. After paying up we agreed to play a few more shows to earn back the money we lost. Being originally quite cheap to hire it took us a little while but the shows were well received so by the time we’d won back our losses it seemed a shame to give up. Phil dropped by to put trumpet solo's on a couple of our songs in an attempt to lengthen them out to at least 2 1/2 minutes and soon after Jake joined on saxophone to make them a full time brass section. The Relay Rips have been writing, touring and drinking tea together since 2007. We have performed in pubs, clubs, ball rooms and tents all over the UK and loved every second of it. We love to rip it up on stage as often as we can but due to other creative projects and commitments our availability can at times be limited, so catch us while you can kids. Our debut album “Oh Touché’ ” will be released on 23rd April 2010 on club bang records. The album was recorded in two sessions the first at a friend house and the second at Toy box studio where the whole album was mixed and mastered. The Relay Rips.

Well shave my sideburns and call me Susan!  This short ‘n' sweet single's rambunctious, likeably lo-fi party rockin' title track barrels us into the Rips' high-kicking, trumpet blazing, Son...
