Carlsberg Don't Do Bands...

About Me

Tremor first formed early in the century. They built a massive following in their hometown Weston-super-Mare playing original music in pubs that usually had cover bands. They played a couple of bigger gigs, including a brilliant festival performance before taking a break from Tremor to pursue other musical avenues. The inbetween times have seen Matt Wescott, Robert Clarke, Simon Bidwell & Alex Browne unintentionally build an impressive CV! Between them they have played most major venues in Bristol including Louisiana, Fleece, Fiddler’s, Croft, Joe Public’s and a balmy night at Bristol Carling Academy where two bands partly made up of Tremor members inspired each other and stole a sold out show. Acclaimed London shows followed at Marquee, Astoria II and Rock Garden to build on initial showcases in Camden and Soho. Recordings made with Jim Barr of Portishead and Jukes fame as well as South West music mogul Tony Hobden have ensured members of Tremor have maintained a presence on the airwaves of BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Bristol, GWR, Star 107.7fm and student stations particularly in the South of England. Bit by bit Tremor have learned their craft together, separately and now together again. Sharing a stage with the likes of Eastertown, Phonic, Fortune Drive, Santa Dog, The Wurzels, Bedmonster, Fionn Regan, David Sneddon, Cheeky Girls, Dizzi Dulcimer, Parry:Matthews, Clumsy, Katey Brooks, Newton Faulkner, Scouting For Girls, Stone From Delphi, Rob Sharples and Dodgy has helped take Tremor songs to a wide audience within other acts but 2008 sees the original four regroup with new songs and a fresh take on some seriously good ’old’ stuff. The songwriter’s awards, dance fusion albums, remixes and video’s won and made in the interim are nice memories but, as a collective rather than individually Tremor are really just starting. Stay tuned...
