Born and raised in Bordeaux, France, Aurélien moved to Boston, MA in 2002 to study under scholarship at Berklee College of Music. Upon graduation and several awards from the school, he moved to New York City in 2006 where he is now based as an active sideman, session player, and teacher.
Equally at ease in Rock, Jazz, Fusion, and World music, Aurélien has shared the stage with Angus Clark (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon), Kudisan Kai (Elton John), and Alain Mallet (Paul Simon) in prestigious venues such as The Blue Note (NYC), The Knitting Factory, and The Bitter End. He has been featured in major festivals around the country such as the NYC Fretless Guitar Fest, the Syracuse Jazz Fest, and the Detroit Jazz Fest.
Aurélien’s debut album as the leader of prog-rock/fusion band ALKEMY was released in 2004 and distributed worldwide by Unicorn Records Canada. The album, “Da 63 Projektâ€, which he also wrote and produced, received critical acclaim around the world.
Aurélien is quickly gaining recognition in the musical community. His solo guitar arrangement of “The Flintstones†was featured in the August 2007 issue of Just Jazz Guitar Magazine and he is also a faculty member at the National Guitar Workshop.
He is currently touring with pop/fusion outfit Stratospheerius, as well as playing regularly with several local NYC acts. He is working on a trio CD due out this year and a follow up to ALKEMY's debut album "da 63 projekt".

Aurelien Budynek plays guitar and writes music, mostly in smaller ensembles and regardless of genre, style or feel. It's just music after all. An active New York City performer, session musician and teacher, he has played in venues such as the Blue Note, the Knitting Factory, the Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and all over the Northeast at the Berklee Performance Center (Boston), Middle East Downstairs (Boston)...
Aurelien was also featured in many major festivals around the country (NYC Fretless Guitar Festival, Detroit Jazz Fest, Syrcause Jazz Fest...).

He moved to Boston, MA in 2002 to study at Berklee College of Music with guitar mentors such as David "Fuze" Fiuczynski, Chris Buono, Mick Goodrick, Jon Finn, Bruce Bartlett and in high level ensembles with Dave Samuels, Alain Mallet, Jamey Haddad, Bret Willmott...
He graduated in December 2005 and then moved to New York City in February 2006 to continue his carreer as a professional performer.
