Fresh Funk with a Soulful twist meet a modern day Pop vibe, Kellie Nicole has unique, eclectic sound. With heartfelt songwriting, powerful vocal skills and intense musical energy, she is more than just a pretty face. Whether it’s showcasing her music with her band at iconic NYC hotspots like The Bitter End & Kenny’s Castaway, songwriting (on both keys and guitar) or recording/producing, Kellie Nicole is hands on in every aspect as an independent artist.Her musical background stems early on @ the age of 6 with inspiration to pursue performing thru her Grandmother, a professional Jazz/Big Band Singer in the 1950’s with regular appearances on the Author Godfrey Show and such. Shortly following, Kellie was enrolled in performing arts schools for piano and voice. Then onto Florida State University, where she trained in classical voice and participated in a variety of musical experiences including jazz, funk, blues and rock, but her schooling didn’t end there. Along with her formal training, Kellie Nicole pursued a career as a professional singer-for-hire for cover, corporate and wedding bands.After enough performance experience, it was time to leave her comfy South Florida roots, start pursuing her original music and try out The Big Apple! With the limited release of her first EP in 2006 (recorded in Austin, TX @ Infinitely Studios), Kellie Nicole started forming her own band. Her line up now includes Kellie Nicole on Acoustic/Vocals, Aurelien Budynek on Electric Guitar, Jon Price on Bass, Red Wierenga ..s, Joe Strasser on Drums and various sax, trumpet and back-up singers. The sound has evolved into a funky/pop mix with the occasional blues, r&b and rock cover arrangements. Kellie released her NEW EP “Unbreakable” August 2008 (Music Production done with Audio Piranha Group). The album has a little something for everyone with music that makes you want to get up & move, feel inspired, love & reflect.
