I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Industry may not understand why I put myself as a writer first.

I'm also a publisher, editor, graphic designer, some-time martial artist and producer.
Some people misunderstand when I say it is all about the story. A story can be a true story or a fictional story.Storytelling can take place through writing, sure --
but also through graphics, art, and contributing to a production.
Until I'm making a full-time living on stories, I help make stories go. Hire me to supervise print, web or event production, design or resdesign your website, teach you how to use myspace, write marketing copy, edit your newsletter, consult or coach you on writing or publishing comics.
I am currently working with American Mule Entertainnment as their Advertising Coordinator for the official Public Enemy Comic Book Series. For now this is a sort of a part-time gig. I am also looking for and engaged in other paying jobs.
My website is: Best Friends Productions... and I have a myspace with updates and information for film and video production that I'm involved with:
Here's a slide show from my picture albums on myspace:
Colors Edited with the MyTheme myspace editor
And here I am with Sam Vera, Jonathan Syphax and hosts Ken Gale and Mercy Van Vlack on WBAI FM. Video clip courtesy of "Catcha Da Craze".

My Interests

Character, Culture, History and Expression. Also: comic books, science fiction, filking, criminology, adventure.

I'd like to meet:

Kind and creative people. No need to be all singing and all dancing, but I've been there.

Also my childhood and teen-years friends I've misplaced...
Especially, Bobby - Benno S. (heard you got married!) - Alexander H. - David R. - Seth T. - Gwen T. - Landon P. - Sang-Min L. - Liz - Mai Wa - Cynthia - David B. (my first reader who really digged my fiction in high school).
And two high school friends I have seen since but not often - Colin H. (yeah! he recently e-mailed me!) and Maria A. (from homeroom).

My teachers - if you remember me fondly, chances are I do too; even if I can't remeber all of your names! Shout out to: Laura, Lynn, Annette, my junior high social studies and english teachers...Mr. Crespi from high school.

My first time as a video producer:

Music:

Gasp!
Blues, Jazz, Rock, Accoustic, Electric, Folk, Punk, Historical Instrumental, some classical periods, some country and blue grass.

Some examples include Aretha Franklin, Dag Nasty, B-52s, Enya.

Honestly, I like to make music and listen to it - but find it way too distracting and all consuming in a geez do I have to be a professional or an expert? way.

I'm interested in so much in this world that music can often come last. Yet I do play guitar and sing -- and have sung for audiences, even. (Some of these audiences even paid admission!)

I see all life in front of those who aren't confidants contains some level of performance -- or to put it another way -- people are faceted in their aspects of self... and not all of these aspects can or should be shared at all times. I've also co-produced small concerts for a singer-songwriter and participated as one of the singers of the material written or arranged by the song-writer.
If you want bredth in lists of music, please visit the love of my life's page. I like a lot of the same stuff as him, even if I can't name all of the bands, songs and styles.

Movies:

Some of my favorites are featured here:

Television:

Favorite current show is "Medium"
I've just enjoyed season one of
the new "Doctor Who"
I like detective and buddy shows
(and good back story/supporting cast to the leads),
and some science fiction shows...
which is why I'm such a big fan of both The Sentinel
and Nash Bridges. I wrote and submitted a spec episode of Deep Space Nine , and planned on pitching episodes to both Legend and Sons of Thunder , and probably would have had my chance if they were re-newed. I got in touch with the production office (creative producers) in both cases. So let this be a lesson. The thing with new shows is that they often take so long to get approved that the creators have written the first season or more.

I know that on a project that I developed with a friend of mine, we have 100 episode scenarios (not fully fleshed out but the main concept and conflict of each). If I weren't fire-fighting my existance so much right now I'd actually have time to work on the pilot movies (several entry points in the early stories that could be released first as tv movies).

Books:

Most recent book is "Myths for the Modern Age," edited by Win Scott Eckert.
Classics Include: , , ,

Heroes:

Lots!
