Blessed Love people! My name is Kya Kindu, (the dangerous herb). I am a Musician/Artist/radio DJ. I live in Montreal Canada. I am a Rasta woman living in Babylon where the people's hearts can be as cold as the weather. Bob Marley is important to me because from when I was a child I used to sit on the couch holding and staring at his album covers while my mother would play them. I feel like Bob Marley is a part of me. Growing up people called me a Bob fanatic. My mom use to tell me that if he were here, he himself would tell me that I should listen to other people too. I loved other singers too but Bob was like my daily bread and I love anyone who loves him too! I have been writing songs for the past five years. My song writing began in April 2000, I was at home smoking a spliff listening to some Damian Marley and I began remembering all the people that I knew who died senselessly and violently including my older brother who was killed by police in Kingston Jamaica, Southside . Suddenly a hook and the 1st verse to my first song was written. It's funny because I was studying to become a nurse and from my friend Andrew B was killed in the January of that same year I went in for my classes but I was never really there. After writing that song and perfoming it a month later people loved it so much they asked for an encore. Since that song was primarily written for Andrew soon friends of Andrew began surfacing with their ryhmes about the same subject. I was able to see that though months had passed since he died I was not the only one still suffering from the pain. He was well loved by many and his death forced a lot of people to look into themselves. Some though, did not make it. Some of them that were there that day when I performed and loved my song are dead now. I wanted to become a Nurse to help people but is seems as if Jah had another plan to have me help people on a larger scale, through my Music.
