Rock the Nation has for ambition to promote, braodcast, make discover to the world the Jamaican music, but more in general carribean music (Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Gwo Ka, Compa...). Founded in 2002 by the original selectors Jah Rabbi (R.I.P.) and Supa Junior (nowadays known as Supa Jay) with for main purpose to promote the youg Reggae scene (singers, DJs) but also Hip Hop. A first mix-cds serie, "Rock the Nation" (from vol. 01 to vol. 17), lays the foundations of this young sound sytem, alternating between ska, roots, early digital, dancehall, hip hop and remix selections... A second compilation serie, "Secret Love" (from vol. 01 to vol. 10) launched in 2003 when Massive G and Sista Kiwi joined the crew. During those years, Rocjk the Nation Sound built a little arsenal of dubplates from famous artists but also from young upcoming singers-DJs such as Lady Shelly, Bramma, Wasp, Ali, McKoy, Shenko... in the showed purpose of making them known by the most part of you. Since the end of the year 2006, massive G has proposed a mixtape serie titled "Blood Pressure" (vol. 01 and 02, the Vol. 03 is now on preparation), in which we find a mix of reggae and Westcoas hip hop blends. That's what made the crew hang around the Compton's native rapper The Game's label Black Wall Street (BWS) ; and Massive G is now the official promoter of BWS Europe in France. More and more, Rock the Nation cooks a melting pot of styles and proposes more and more US rappers (but also Jamaicans, Germans...) on reggae-dancehall riddims. At the start of 2008, new compilation series are dropping, with respectively Dancehall, Easy Rock, Early Digital, Rocksteady, Soca, Roots and Remix... All those mix-cds are dropping on this page, and will be, as usual available in free downloads... Reeditions of older compilations are also on our mind... For any question, please leave us a message here.
